Search for Your Roots: Branches Genealogy Group
A bimonthly group for genealogists of all levels of experience
Linda Cook, BPL's local history librarian and author of Images of America: Brownsburg, coordinates this learning and discussion group. Each meeting focuses on a different topic related to genealogy research. This month will feature a presentation by Plainfield Public Library's Genealogy Librarian and the webmaster of the Hendricks County USGenWeb website, Meredith Thompson, on the uses of probate records in genealogical research. Future topics will include: using newspapers in genealogical research, land records, and DNA testing.
Attendees also have access during the meeting to HeritageQuest and Ancestry Library, and have the opportunity to ask questions about their research, and discuss their finds and roadblocks.
