It turned out to be another beautiful weekend in East Tennessee. We'd love to see your support on Wednesday, May 14 at 2 p.m., as we hold a ribbon cutting for Princess Brown State Farm Insurance (356 S. Calderwood St., Alcoa). Refreshments will be available including a cake from Sam's Club. Be sure to check out the calendar below for many more events coming up in the next two weeks.
Don't forget about the Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games this weekend at Maryville College. It's a great family event with music, food, games and of course, the colorful piper bands. Tickets are available at the gate. FOOTHILLS ANTIQUE TRACTOR SHOW If you like tractors and engines, then be sure to mark your calendar for the Foothills Antique Tractor Show, May 23-24, at the Visitor's Center in Townsend. This two-day event brings together all kinds of tractors from every era along with food, vendors, music and arts & crafts. Admission is free with $5 parking. REMEMBER WHEN I bring us to the modern era of music this week as the Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" topped the Billboard Hot 100 this week in 2009, making it the group's first U.S. number one single. The song was nominated at the 52nd Grammy Awards for Best Dance Recording and won Best Short Form Music Video.
