Blount Partnership News & Events

Well, we all survived the snow and school closings last week. We're sorry that the coffee club and BYLD social were canceled. Even the ribbon cutting at the La Quinta Inns & Suites in Alcoa was postponed until Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 11 a.m. We hope to see you there.

Don't forget about the Winter Heritage Festival this weekend. It kicks off with a reception Feb. 6 at the Townsend Artisan Gallery and continues with a full schedule of events Friday-Sunday, including the Townsend Artisan Guild Photography Workshop.

Additionally, I highly encourage you to RSVP for a special leadership training seminar by Bill Graham on Feb. 12 (see below). Check out this video clip of his presentation.

Finally, we are four weeks away from the 94th Chamber Annual Meeting on Feb. 28 (the largest networking event in the county). Also, the Winter Heritage Festival takes place in Townsend, Feb. 6-9.

IMPROVE YOU LIKEABILITY - IMPROVE YOUR IMPACT
The Blount Partnership is proud to present an outstanding seminar by Bill Graham of Graham Corporate Communications on Feb. 12 from 8:30-11:30 a.m., at the Clayton Center for the Arts Lambert Recital Hall. Registration is $50 for Chambers members and can be made by Email or calling 865.983.2241.

We've had the opportunity to experience this great seminar and it's fabulous. You walk away with communication tools for leaders, managers and sales team members.

During this workshop, you will learn...Simple steps to improve your likeability while crafting your ideas into messages and stories that resonate with your members, build professional relationships through personal connections and learn customer service tools to be more trusting and helpful.

Bill challenges leaders in every industry to be their most likeable and memorable. His programs help people make connections, improve relationships and say the right thing.

DON'T BE THE ONE HEARING ABOUT THE FUN AT THE ANNUAL MEETING, GET TIX TODAY
The Blount Partnership's annual meeting sponsored by Asbury Place is coming up on Friday, Feb. 28 at the Airport Hilton. Let me tell you, this ain't your granddaddy's annual meeting. No! This is the premier networking event for Blount County. There's no guest speaker. No rubber chicken dinner. It's just a giant dance party with GLOW, a live performance / show / dance band and heavy hors d'oeuvres.

This is the perfect event to entertain clients and show them the hospitality of Blount County. There will be videos, music, great food, cash bar and an atmosphere to meet and greet the movers and shakers that make this area such a great place to do business and live.

Tickets are $100 and tables are available by calling 865.273.1206. The Hilton is even offering a discounted room rate of $79 so you can stay and have a real good time.

REMEMBER WHEN
Topping the Billboard singles chart this week in 1982 was "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)," by Hall & Oates. It was the fourth number-one hit single of their career on the Billboard Hot 100 and the second hit single from their album Private Eyes. It ended a 10-week run at the top of the Hot 100 by Olivia Newton-John's song, "Physical." "I Can't Go for That" was voted number six on VH1's list of "The 100 Greatest Songs of the '80s."
