The Martin Luther King Jr. business luncheon

There are also two ribbon cutting/grand openings this week. The first is today a 2 p.m. for H&R Block in Foothills Mall. The second is Wednesday at 11 a.m. for the LaQuinta Inn & Suites

BLOUNT COUNTY MAP PROJECT
The Chamber is once again producing a map of Blount County and has engaged Target Marketing in Kentucky to handle the product and ad sales. You should receive a letter in the next few days with information about getting your ad on the map. These are given to anyone looking for a physical map of the area.

TCCE WINTER CONFERENCE
Governor Bill Haslam will speak at the TCCE Winter Conference luncheon on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at the Sheraton in downtown Nashville. The program begins at 11:30 a.m. and concludes with a legislative reception from 5-7 p.m. Register at www.tnchamber.org
One of the iconic songs of the '80s "Down Under" by Men at Work began the first of a three-week run atop the Billboard charts this week in 1983. In the United States the song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 on Nov. 6, 1982 at No. 79 and reached No. 1 in Jan. 1983 where it spent four non-consecutive weeks. It eventually sold over two million copies in the US alone. The song was ranked number 96 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the 1980s.
