PUBLIC WORKSHOPS FOR MARYVILLE-TO-TOWNSEND GREENWAY PLANNING
You're invited to a workshop to help plan a new trail link in Blount County.
Maryville/Alcoa and Townsend already have some terrific trails. Wouldn't it be great to link them together?
Come on out to one of the workshops on April 10 and 11
. You'll hear about the opportunities and challenges of creating a greenway trail from Maryville to Townsend. You'll get a chance to take a walk on a nearby trail and tell us what features you'd like the new greenway to have. And you'll be able to ask questions about the plan and the process.
Public workshops are from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., April 10 at the Townsend Visitors Center and April 11 at the Maryville Municipal Building. We leave for the greenway walk at 6, so don't be left behind! (And be sure to wear comfortable shoes.)
There will also be two stakeholder workshops, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 to 4 p.m., on April 11 at the Maryville Municipal Building. These will be a bit longer than the public workshops and are aimed at certain stakeholder groups, but the public is invited as well.

H.O.G. RALLY VOLUNTEERS
The 2013 Tennessee State HOG Rally is coming to Maryville May 28-June 1 and volunteers are needed for the week-long celebrations, events and activities.
There are many events, activities, and places to serve during the rally week. The official website
has information including the rally schedule and a request form to personalize volunteering for specific events, times, and dates.
If you're ready to make a commitment to help your volunteer committee make this an outstanding rally -- and enhance your Rally Experience in the process -- click on the "Volunteers" link and choose the days you would like to volunteer. The link will allow you to give contact information that will not be shared with others. Type the word CHAMBER in the space asking for Chapter Name to help identify and place Blount Chamber members wishing to volunteer.
