7:30-8:30 am Registration, Calculator Check

8:30-8:55 am Opening Remarks

9:00-9:50 am Sprint Round (no spectators)

9:50-10:15 am Break

10:15-10:55 am Target Round (no spectators)

11:00-11:30 am Team Round (no spectators)

11:30 am - 1:00 pm Lunch

1:15-2:00 pm Countdown Round (Spectators Welcome)

2:00-3:00 pm Trophies, Awards, Prizes (Spectators Welcome)

 

*SET-UP (7:00am-9:00am) - Setup signs, tables, chairs, and testing rooms

*GREETER (7:30am-8:45am) - Hand out goodie bags and t-shirts, check calculators

*REGISTRATION (7:30am-8:45am) - Check-in schools, tally number of students, and verify name spelling

*PROCTOR (8:15am-noon) - Watches students, administers exam, checks calculators

*GRADER (9:30am-1:00pm) - Answers are provided, duties  are to grade examsand trade with partner to grade the same exam twice

*RUNNER (arrive by 9:30am) - Assisting in running tests, materials and other coordination help from each room

*LUNCH CREW (11:15am-1:00pm)

*CLEAN UP (2:00pm-3:30pm) - Pack up material and cleanup

 

Coffee, donuts, and pizza lunch will be provided on day of event.

February 2013 - President's Message

 

February is probably the busiest and most exciting month of the year for the TSPE Dallas Chapter and I hope you'll participate with us!

 

On Saturday, February 9th, the Dallas Chapter MATHCOUNTS competition will take place at SMU. Our Chapter's Co-Chairs Adam Kane, PE and Howard Gibbs, PE have planned an excellent day where over 120 middle school students from around the Dallas Area will participate in the competition. We need your help! We need almost 100 volunteers to ensure the competition is a success. Proctors are needed from 8:15 AM to 12 PM and Graders are needed from 9:30 AM to 1 PM. Email Cynthia Fields, c.fields@vrxglobal.com if you can volunteer.

 

National Engineer's Week is February 17 - 23, 2013. The TSPE Dallas and Preston Trail Chapters have again joined together to host the Metroplex's largest engineering event of the year. The 2013 E-Week Event will be Thursday, February 21 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Plano Centre. This year's Event Co-Chairs John Ho, PE and Chris Flanigan, PE, along with Honorary Chair Bennett Ratliff, PE (Texas State House of Representatives District 115) have been working together for months to plan a memorable luncheon! Over 600+ Engineers have already registered - you won't want to miss this event! At this year's E-Week Event - we are thrilled to celebrate the accomplishments of our TSPE Dallas Engineer of the Year, Dev Rastogi, PE from URS Corporation and our TSPE Dallas Young Engineer of the Year, Miles Bullion, EIT from LTRA Engineers. The TSPE Dallas Chapter raised $2247 for the NTFB at our December Meeting. Marc Sandhu led the efforts for this year's raffle and this was our best year yet! Thank you Marc! Thank you all that sponsored the raffle and all that bought raffle tickets. We are looking forward to a TSPE Dallas NTFB Volunteer Day very soon!
