Last Chance to Avoid E-Rx Penalty

Prescription Pad and Pills

American Medical News reports that physicians and other health professionals have until Nov. 1, 2011 to report a hardship exemption and prevent a Medicare reimbursement cut in 2012.  A final rule released by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services on August 31 offers providers an extra month to obtain waivers under an expanded list of exemptions, in order to avoid a pay decrease of 1 percent during 2012.
