Featuring
Benny Kohn - Keyboard
Dave Christopolis - Upright Base
Benny "Fingers" Kohn lives in Windsor. When Benny was age 6, his father, Ed, a songwriter and recording artist, sat him in front of a piano and taught him the basics. Benny took it from there! He performs regularly at restaurants and clubs throughout the region including the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington, Mohegan Sun Casino, NYC's Highline Ballroom, Lake Placid Center for the Arts, the Iron Horse Music Hall, and the Academy of Music in Northampton. He studied jazz piano at Berklee College of Music in Boston and at Westfield State College. Benny has also played in Boston, Chicago, and several European cities.
Dave Christopolis is an upright and electric bass player who can cover a diverse set of musical styles and as a result is called to work with a number of musicians across New England. You will see Dave on any given week gigging with bluegrass outfits, backing up singer/songwriters, supporting a blues band, and working with jazz musicians in different combos.
Dave studied jazz composition at Berklee College of Music. Dave is a working musician performing across the Northeast as a sideman to many musical groups and has played bass on over 20 records including recording jobs for Signature Sounds and Flying Fish/Rounder records. Dave is the executive director of the Hilltown CDC in his day job.
Matt Lamb is a Berkshire-born and -raised musician (Becket) who plays with numerous bands, including The Poor Beckett Rebels and Chris Merenda and the Wheel, and he's a regular part of the Picky Bastards bluegrass session at the Mission Bar in Pittsfield on Thursday nights. Matt is also co-founder of Berkshire Earth Regenerators, a permaculture-based operation that is "determined to help change the way us crazy humans interact with the planet."
