Starting at 5:30 Avery Sharpe: Musician, composer, educator Avery is a world-class musician who makes his home in our Hilltowns. In his long career, Avery has played with George Benson, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Cab Calloway, Freddie Hubbard, Archie Shepp, Dizzy Gillespie, and Yusef Lateef, among others. Avery was the bassist for 18 years with the McCoy Tyner Trio. See Avery's discography HERE.
Also on the bill is Mike Kolodny. Mike will perform with his vocalist wife, Laura Pierce. Mike has performed since the 1980s with many jazz masters in noted venues including the Blue Note, Carnegie Hall, Ryles and Scullers in Boston, and the Discover Jazz Festival. Dave Bartley, keyboard/vocals
Blues-infused jazz piano/vocals and standard blues and jazz.
David's musical career includes scoring original music for film, video, and radio productions. After relocating to New England in 1999, David spent seven years working with at-risk youth, creating the music department at The Academy at Swift River in Cummington. David now devotes all his professional time to music, teaching private lessons and appearing locally as a soloist and in jazz ensembles throughout Western Mass.
