Help Our Deli Help You

Our peak busy season is starting. We work hard to satisfy every customer with our great prepared-from-scratch foods. See our specialty sandwich menu HERE. These are all made to order, and grilling time adds an extra five minutes. When we get orders for several at one time, we put them together in the order received. A wait of 10 to 20 minutes on a busy summer weekend is not unusual.

Last year we installed our grab-and-go case, which has proven to be a great busy-day option when you are pressed for time. Another helpful habit is to simply call ahead to 413-634-5560, ask for the deli, and let us know what you would like and if you want to eat in or have it to go.

Having a picnic or gathering where you would like an assortment of Creamery-prepared dishes in bucket size or larger? Our famous dishes do sell out fast in the summer, so let us know a couple days ahead so we are sure to have enough on hand for your group without depriving other customers.

When you have time to relax and enjoy the nice weather under one of our patio umbrellas, our food is worth the wait because it is made with lots of Local Love. Some examples:

  • Butter, Sour Cream, Cheddar, Monterey Jack - Cabot Creamery Cooperative, Vermont
  • Chipotle Mustard - Appalachian Naturals, Goshen, Mass.
  • Cream and Milk - Crescent Creamery and Mapleline Dairy, New England/South Deerfield, Mass.
  • Eggs - Feather Ridge Farm, Columbia County, New York
  • Goat Cheese - Westfield Farm, Hubbardston, Mass.
  • Grass-fed Beef - Wheel-View Farm, Shelburne, Mass.
  • Pasture-raised Ham and Bacon - Claremont, New Hampshire
  • Pasture-raised Turkey - Misty Knoll Farm, New Haven, Vermont
  • Seasonal Vegetables from surrounding farms, including Four Corners Farm, Worthington; The Kitchen Garden, Hatfield; Crabapple Farm, Chesterfield; Paddy Flat Farm, Ashfield

All Indigo coffees (in 12-oz. packages) are on sale one week only ending July 1. Indigo is a local artisan roaster dedicated to the enjoyment of coffee and committed to giving back to the communities it deals with. Indigo provides economic and environmental programs in the coffee-growing regions it works with, and 100% of Indigo's electricity is purchased from renewable energy sources. They roast all of their coffee within 24 hours of delivery in small batches and use a slower traditional dry-roast, air-cooling method with their beans. In addition, all of their coffee is Kosher, Organic, and Fair Trade certified.

CHEMEX Coffeemakers and Bonded Filters will also be on sale this month. Chemex glassware has been in production since 1941 and is proudly made in Massachusetts.

The combination of Indigo coffee and Chemex's pour-over brewing process will give you that perfect cup of coffee, without any sediments or bitter elements.

Enjoy the pursuit of the perfect cup of iced coffee!

Cold Brewing for Iced Coffee:

Steep 1 pound of coffee (ground for drip) in 3 quarts of cold water for 12 hours. Filter into an airtight container. This should yield about 1 quart of iced coffee concentrate. Keep chilled. Mix 1 part of this coffee concentrate and 3 parts cold water for iced coffee beverages. If refrigerated, it should taste delicious for at least 1 week.

Sew for the Planet

On Earth Day 2008, the Creamery went disposable bag free thanks to the great efforts of The Bagshare Project. The Creamery has been saving 49,000 paper bags per year. This is an accomplishment to be proud of!

The dedicated folks at the Bagshare Project schedule periodic "sews" to replenish the supply of bags in circulation, and with our busy Summer Season coming, this is increasingly important.

A Creamery Bagshare sew will take place this Saturday from 10-1 at the sewing center in basement of the Cummington Community House. All are welcome, and no sewing experience is required. Just come and have fun!  RSVP Peg Cowen .

Oh! If you happen to have have a stash of Bagshare bags in your home or in your vehicle and you have been meaning to return them, now is the time! We need your support to make sure that everyone who needs a bag this Summer will indeed have one. Thanks!
