Last Grilling of the Season!
Our last grilling of the summer will be this Saturday, August 9. Alice
has offered a phenomenal menu this year, and many of the dishes sell out at the grill before they can make it indoors and into the deli case.
Preparation for all these grilled goodies takes an enormous part of Friday afternoon and evening, and starts right up again early Saturday morning.
Those of you who know Alice know that she simply cannot help herself when it comes to feeding people. We will be giving her a forced rest after this weekend.
Be early, arrive hungry, and go home happy! (See the full grilling menu HERE.)

Member-Owner Appreciation Days Coming August 17, 18!
Do we pick a day on a weekend or a weekday? (Many folks are likely to miss one or the other.)
Ah heck, let's just do both!
Sunday, August 17, or Monday, August 18: Pick your day to be appreciated! Give us your member-owner number (or name) and enjoy 10% off* all day.
We promise a festive atmosphere with lots of savings both days. Enjoy samplings throughout the day from local suppliers as well as Creamery-made goodies. On Sunday afternoon we will even host a free wine tasting to introduce you to many of our new additions. In case you missed it, we have doubled our selection.
If you are not yet a member-owner, you can join the Co-op NOW or on one of the appreciation days and immediately take advantage of 10% off all day. Membership brochures can be downloaded HERE or picked up in the store at the registers.
Thank you for shopping at the Co-op. We look forward to seeing you in the store.
*As on other appreciation days, there are a few exceptions: tobacco, alcohol, newspapers, and items from the Little Gallery cannot be included in the member-owner discounts.

Did you lose a ring last summer?
No one has responded to notices we've posted over the last several months about a ring found at the Creamery, but quite possibly it was lost by one of our summer visitors. Think you might know the person to whom this ring belongs? Have them get in touch with Michael, our general manager. We would love to see it back on its rightful finger.

What's in Store?
Fresh local products from our area farmers continue to fill the produce section:
- Local blueberries (including IPM/low-spray options) from three different farms.
- Local peaches.
- Organically raised lettuce, kale, chard, and heirloom tomatoes from Crabapple Farm.
- Sungold cherries, parsley, purple scallions, assorted lettuce from Paddy Flat Farm.
- Kitchen Garden Farm is back with new potatoes and salad mix.
- Bridge Street Farm Stand is still supplying us with local GMO-free sweet corn, tomatoes, green beans, summer squash, pickling and slicing cucumbers, and eggplant.
- Alice and Amy are supplying us with assorted organically grown summer squashes.
We have grass-fed ground beef from both Wheel-View and Crabapple farm.
Great summer cheeses such as L'Ermitage Brie, D'Affinois, Delice de Borgogne.
Two new local coffee choices: French roast Nicaraguan from Elbow Room in Williamsbury, and a very dark roast, "The Godfather," from Rao's Coffee in Amherst.
In bulk, an old favorite is back: chocolate-covered malted milk balls!
Other new items include dark chocolate almond caramels, berry-flavored organic energy chunks, and whole wheat honey fig bars, all in the Grab and Go.
We now have Cup4cup gluten-free flour, and Backroads gluten-free granola.
In grocery, we brought back some old favorites: Fentimans Orange Jigger and Rose Lemonade. if you haven't tried these they are hands-down some of the most delicious sodas we've ever tasted. They are ginger-based with an unusual twist.
We've added local cookies from Klara's Gourmet in Lee. She specializes in shortbreads and macaroons. Our favorites are her sea salt and chocolate chip shortbread and gluten-free chocolate macaroons.
We have added additional pints of Luna and Larry's Coconut Bliss nondairy coconut-based ice creams. They are delicious and creamy. Even if you don't normally eat nondairy, we urge you to try them. They are yummy!

GMO Labeling
(Not in Mass. at this time)
We are disappointed, but not deterred. The GMO labeling bill in Massachusetts had overwhelming support from individual legislators but, alas, did not get out of the Ways and Means Committee and therefore did not come up for vote. See what happened in the home stretch at THIS LINK. We look forward to our state having the courage to stand with Vermont. We remain optimistic that this can happen next legislative session. Let your reps and senators hear your disappointment NOW, and when this all starts up next session we will keep you informed.
