CO-OP BASICS
(Look for the RED shelf tags)
In our recent customer survey, we heard clearly that you wish some of our prices could be lower.
We are thrilled to introduce the Co-op's BASICS LINE of everyday low-priced products. Our goal is to offer you the best-quality, real food, as well as a few popular convenience foods, at the lowest possible price. We have included items that meet some of your basic, everyday food needs. We are also including a significant number of organic products on which we have been able to get our costs down.
For several weeks, we have been negotiating with our suppliers to shave their profit margins on selected products. We've reached agreement for many cost reductions, but we had to commit to increase our volume for these products. In addition to supplier cost reductions, we are also shaving our own profit margins on these items to maintain the everyday low prices. Now, here is where you come in. Get excited about our BASICS program and save money, and we will be able to sustain this program.
As a small-volume store with limited storage, we generally purchase our wide selection of products one case at a time, so we cannot get the volume discounts available to larger stores. We are, however, committed to work as hard as possible to keep our prices reasonable and our BASICS line at the lowest prices possible so you can do more of your shopping at the Creamery.
See our current list of BASICS offerings by clicking on this link, look for the RED shelf tags in the store, and let us know what you think.

Vinegar Tasting: Sunday, April 13, 7:00 p.m.
Now's the time to sign up for the Creamery's next tasting session! Our two latest tastings filled up well before the event and many folks had to be on a waiting list hoping for cancellations. Ask the cashier to sign you up when you are in the store or send an email to info@oldcreamery.coop.
This tasting will focus on the history and production of balsamic vinegar, though it will touch on other important vinegars as well. Alice Cozzolino will offer culinary tips as we sample many outstanding vinegars and learn how to use them in a variety of ways.
This event is free; donations are accepted. All featured vinegars will be on sale. Sign up NOW to ensure a seat: once again, ask the cashier to sign you up, call 634-5560, or send an email to info@oldcreamery.coop.
Note: Our Beer Tasting will be on May 18 and our Cheese Tasting will be on June 8. We encourage you to get your name on these lists soon. Both tastings are guaranteed to be oversubscribed.

Michael Kalagher Appointed New Co-op General Manager
The Old Creamery Co-op Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Michael Kalagher has been formally appointed as the Old Creamery Co-op's General Manager. Michael, one of the architects and creators of the Co-op, stepped down from the board in November 2013 to serve as interim General Manager when Karen Doherty left us. Since then, he has worked tirelessly with the staff in the areas of pricing, purchasing, planning, marketing, and community building, to put the Co-op on a sound footing as we continue to move forward. After his nearly four months in this interim role, board members decided that we would like him to continue to serve in the capacity of General Manager, to which Michael agreed. The board would like to thank Michael for his commitment and hard work to date. We look forward to continuing to work together to achieve the goals of the Old Creamery Co-op, and we ask the community to join us in welcoming Michael as General Manager.
--your Co-op Board of Directors: Peter, Wil, Lori, Ann, John, Hattie, and Josh
