Just in! Creamery Shopping Bags

Camille the cow is front and center on these ecologically responsible shopping bags.

Produced for us by Enviro-Tote in Bedford, New Hampshire, these bags are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles and feel quite like cloth. And you can toss them in the washing machine.

We are selling these great bags for $7.50 each.

Co-op member-owners can purchase bags for $5.00 (our cost) while supplies last!

We Heard You!

Feedback from out customer survey told us that many of you are frustrated when you need to do significant shopping.

You start out with a basket, but quickly run out of space (and it starts getting awfully heavy).

We have purchased a larger stack of blue baskets, AND if the first basket starts to fill up, grab a cart near the west entrance and lighten your load.

If you would like assistance carrying your purchase to your car, just ask, and we will be there.

Thank you for shopping at our Co-op!

Soups from Ashfield's Turkish Kitchen

This Saturday, March 22, Ipek Kursat, owner of the Turkish Kitchen in Ashfield, will offer  tastings of some of her delicious soups beginning at 11:00 a.m. Stop by and enjoy authentic Turkish ingredients, many grown on Ipek's own farm, DewGreen Farm.

We currently have several of Ipek's soup mixes on our shelves and her wonderful Borek in the freezer case. Come by Saturday and sample:

Mercimek Soup:

A traditional Turkish soup with legumes, grains, herbs, and spices. Regular (with bulgur wheat) and wheat-free (with rice).

Tarhana:

Originating in the tenth century, a fermented, dehydrated soup and pilaf mix, filled with yogurt, pureed vegetables, and herbs.

And in our freezer case pick up Turkish Kitchen Borek:

Phyllo dough rolled around a savory mix of grass-fed ground beef seasoned with onions, herbs, and spices. FROZEN. Comes in packages of two or six rolls.

In Ipek's own words, "My beef is grass-fed, from Wheel-View Farm or a distributor that sells organic meat as well as conventional; the fats are organic olive oil and organic butter. There is no soy in my products. The spices mostly come from Mountain Rose Herbs, which is an organic purveyor; the cumin is from Turkey. They do not use GMO seeds there."

Ipek's delicious foods will be on sale for 10% off on Saturday, March 22. We know you will enjoy these authentic and flavorful dishes!

Fresh Seafood 6 Days a Week

Our seafood ordering has been gaining in popularity and we are now able to offer daily ordering, with next-day delivery! The only day we cannot get deliveries is Sunday, so Friday by 4:00 p.m. is the ordering cutoff for the week; you can pick up Friday orders on Saturday.

The seafood we recommend on our specials board changes weekly based on the best available. All seafood is brought in fresh from Boston daily.

We select and recommend MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) certified sustainable seafood choices. We are willing to order any seafood you'd like, but we will advise you on the best ecological choices we know of.

When you have a desire for some great seafood just call us and it will be here the next day. You can always see what this week's recommendations are by using the quick links on the right-hand side of our web page, or by going directly to this link.

Thanks for making this cooperative program successful!
