Tasting of the Oil
It's almost time to sample olive oils with Alice! This Sunday, March 9, is our Olive Oil Tasting at 7:00 p.m. in the Creamery Cafe. We still have a few seats left, so act today.
.
Preregistration is required.
Alice Cozzolino promises an informative, exciting, and delicious event. We'll explore the historical, cultural, and culinary aspects of olive oil, and we'll learn about the cultivation of olives and the production of oil. As we taste more than a dozen amazing oils from several countries, we'll make notes on tasting sheets that we can take home so we can remember our favorite oils and why they're so special. And the Creamery will offer great sale prices on all featured oils. Join us for this interesting, educational, fun, and delicious event! Sign up by calling 634-5560; by speaking with a cashier at the store; or by emailing info@oldcreamery.coop. |

Sample Soups from Ashfield's Turkish Kitchen On Saturday, March 22, Ipek Kursat, owner of the Turkish Kitchen in Ashfield, will offer tastings of some of her delicious soups beginning at 11:00 a.m. and through the lunch hour. Ipek uses authentic Turkish ingredients in her creations, many of which she grows herself on DewGreen Farm. The Creamery currently has several of Ipek's soup mixes on the shelves and her wonderful Borek in the freezer case. Try these: Mercimek Soup Mix: A traditional Turkish soup with legumes, grains, herbs, and spices. Regular (with bulgur wheat) and wheat-free (with rice). Tarhana: Originating in the tenth century, a fermented, dehydrated soup and pilaf mix, filled with yogurt, pureed vegetables, and herbs. Borek: Phyllo dough rolled around a savory mix of grass-fed ground beef seasoned with onions, herbs, and spices. FROZEN. Comes in packages of two or six rolls. In Ipek's words, "My beef is grass-fed, from Wheel-View Farm or a distributor that sells organic meat as well as conventional; the fats are organic olive oil and organic butter. There is no soy in my products. The spices mostly come from Mountain Rose Herbs, which is an organic purveyor; the cumin is from Turkey. They do not use GMO seeds there." Any of Ipek's products will be on sale for 10% off on Saturday, March 22. We know you will enjoy these authentic and flavorful dishes. |

Co-op Annual Meeting Set for Next Month On Sunday, April 27, the Old Creamery Co-op will hold its second Annual Meeting at the Cummington Community House between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. This meeting is just six months after the first annual meeting due to the Co-op's bylaw change of late last year aligning the Creamery's fiscal year with the calendar year. All future annual meetings will be held in the spring. The Co-op will provide an agenda and additional details about this meeting as we approach the date. Member-owner participation in our Co-op is key, so please mark your calendars for April 27.

Member-Owner Appreciation Weekend Coming in May
Saturday, May 3rd, and Sunday, May 4th, are the next Member-Owner Appreciation Days. As a member-owner, you pick which day works best for you and enjoy 10% off* all day for yourself and your household associate member-owners.
In addition to the savings, there will be tastings throughout both days featuring Creamery-made goodies and selected samples and tastings from our suppliers. And there will be a few other surprises.
If you are not yet a member-owner you can join the Co-op by that Saturday or Sunday and immediately take advantage of 10% off* all day. You can pay your membership in full or with small monthly payments. There are applications on the cafe tables or any of the Creamery staff would be happy to get you a brochure. Return it to the cashier with the payment you choose and that's it. You are now a member-owner of the Old Creamery Co-op!
We celebrate and appreciate our 670 member-owners who are supporting our Co-op through their member-owner equity. We are equally appreciative of all who support our Co-op with regular patronage.
Thank you.
*As on other appreciation days, there are a few exceptions: tobacco, alcohol, newspapers, and the Little Gallery cannot be included in the member-owner discounts.
