Creamery to Close Most of Friday for Renovation -- Volunteers Needed
This coming Friday, February 22, the store will be closed for most of the day for the installation of a new electrical service on the west side of the building. We will also be demolishing a chimney and doing a first-phase "reset" of shelving and equipment. We intend to re-open the store by mid to late afternoon. If you are planning to stop by on Friday you may wish to call 413-634-5560 to ensure we're open. And if you can volunteer to help us please read on and send a note to email@example.com.
This exciting phase of our store's renovation requires the careful coordination of many, including Western Mass Electric, Verizon, Pete Marcoux Excavation, and Marney Electric, under the oversight of our general contractor, Shippee Builders.
While the store is closed, the builder's crews will demolish and remove an obsolete brick chimney taking up valuable floor space and temporarily finish floors and ceilings in the demolition area. Shippee Builders will then open the walls to the new produce and bulk sections and we will move equipment into place. Much of the shelving, products, and equipment in the store will be reoriented.
Volunteers will be needed for Thursday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. and working till roughly 11:00. Volunteers will help move equipment, stock, and shelving. This work will require people that are able-bodied as much of the product to be moved is heavy liquids. On Friday we will have the full Creamery staff on hand to clean, relocate, and restock after the demolition, but we would also like a few volunteers who are willing to be on standby in case additional help is needed.
If you can join the Thursday night "get-ready" party or be on standby for Friday, please send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Getting to this point has required intense planning, and we will be meeting with all contractors one more time this week to make sure all the details are nailed down. We will confirm plans with all volunteers by Thursday morning. Our goal is to reopen the store mid to late afternoon on Friday. With thoughtful planning and enough help we can make that happen. Oh, and needless to say, there will be Creamery treats for your efforts.
