Early Closings at the Creamery
We have two early closings coming up. This Friday, January 4, we will be closing at 4 p.m. to honor our hard-working and awesome staff with a staff bowling party. We are closing early so that all staff may attend. Then on Sunday, January 13, we'll be getting down to some serious stuff when we have our first all-staff meeting. On that day, the store will also close at 4 p.m. We thank you so much for your understanding of the importance of these two events.

Ah, the New Year, full of hope and promise! So much beautiful snow and moonlight these past few days--I hope you have been able to enjoy some winter activities. The Co-op is so excited to be starting off the year with so very much to look forward to.
You may by now have seen a few changes in our bulk foods department. We want to expand this department as it is not only an economical way to shop, but it also reduces the amount of packaging used. Feel free to bring in your own jars and containers, and remember to get them weighed before you fill them. We have been putting some items in glass jars in the interest of keeping products as fresh as possible. We will be experimenting with this system, as I know you are used to buying many items already bagged by our staff. As part of the renovation, the bulk department will be getting its own special nook in the store, with shelf space available for you to bag and weigh items in a more convenient manner. We are always more than happy to assist you with this, so please don't hesitate to ask.
New items are arriving daily! Look for gorgeous New Mexico, Habanero, and Ancho Dried Peppers, as well as some "wildcrafted" dried mushrooms such as Porcinis and a Northwest Mix.
After the renovation we hope to bring in more liquid bulk items such as olive oil, vinegar, honey, tamari, and maple syrup, as space allows. We are looking into a nut-butter grinder too. Let us know what you think!

Wanted: Helping Hands Help! We need somebody. Help! Not just anybody . . . (Oh how we love the Beatles!) Seriously now, as we move through the renovation process, there will be many opportunities for volunteers to help out the Co-op, especially when we'll need to move items from one place to another. This may be many small light items, or sometimes it will be one large item. So we need all kinds of volunteers! If you are able to help out, for an hour, an afternoon, or a day, please send an email to our wonderful volunteer coordinator, Shirley Todd, at volunteer@oldcreamery.coop, and she will add you to the volunteer email list. Many items are on sale every week at the Creamery. Look for the brightly colored shelf tags. These items are 15%-45% off regular prices. We work hard to find bargains on many different items, including staple groceries, treats like chocolate, juices, refrigerated items, personal care products, and supplements. The shelf tags indicate when the sale price expires. Some sale items are one-time opportunities that remain on sale until sold out. Many are purchasing opportunities that can be replenished over several weeks at great prices. Enjoy the savings!
