America United 4th of July Celebration
The City's signature event is Monday, July 4th. The day will begin with the ever popular Independence Day parade (north down Frederick St, west at Towngate Blvd.), will continue with the Family FunFest (Morrison Park/Mountain View Middle School) and will conclude with a spectacular fireworks show simulcast with KOLA 99.9. The day-long event brings the community together with great music, good food, and a lot of fun! The City of Moreno Valley is grateful to our sponsors:
It is not too late to enter the parade! Community groups, churches, sports organizations and others are encouraged to participate in this community event. Visit our website at www.moval.org/fourth for all July 4th information.

The community was treated with three events this past Memorial Day. The City held a Memorial Day Ceremony to honor and remember fallen military servicemen and women and their families with live music and inspirational messages. West Coast Thunder roared through Moreno Valley along Sunnymead Blvd. as part of their bike run/ parade with approximately 7,500 riders bringing a wonderful flair of patriotism to the community. And there was a wonderful event re-establishing a portion of the Old I-215 as part of the Historic 395 complete with a car show and other fun.

As the temperatures begin to rise and we move closer to summer, the Office of Emergency Management would like to inform everyone that heat related illness and deaths are highly common and typically, preventable. If you plan to be outside, take steps to hydrate well before any outing.
Drowning incidents do not only happen in pools, lakes and oceans, but can also occur in bathtubs, mop buckets, toilets, and water as shallow as 2 inches. Water safety should be adhered to year-round. Please be diligent to not have unattended children around the water; looking away for just a few seconds could result in a tragedy.
