With California's continuing drought conditions, the City has made water conservation a priority. In response to the drought, EMWD implemented Stage 4C of its Water Shortage Contingency Plan and is mandating a 70% reduction of potable water use for outdoor landscaping. The appearance of our community's public landscaping will change as we adjust to the changing weather patterns and work together to preserve our water supply. Click here to learn more about the steps the City has taken to reduce potable water use.
EMWD encourages everyone to participate in its 2016 "Winter Outdoor Watering" (WOW) Challenge. For every ¼ inch of rain, customers can stop irrigating for a week.
The City Council discussed the drought and its impacts to our public landscaping during it February 9th Study Session. Both EMWD's and the City's presentation can be viewed from the City's website.
