El Niņo Planning: Let's Be Ready

The El Niņo season is coming and will likely bring record inches of rain to the community. Without making a significant effort to be prepared, our City and its residents could face lasting impacts. The Office of Emergency Management and Volunteer Services has a plan and all residents can be part of it. Community meetings will be held to share information and opportunities. Don't miss the chance to learn more about how to help yourself and your community. Contact oem@moval.org for more information. Like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter @MoValCityHall for updates.
Let's Talk MoVal Takes on Mailbox Theft
Mailbox theft and damage is on the rise. The Moreno Valley Police Department indicates that there have been more than 100 reports of mail theft in just the last year and not all incidents are reported to the Moreno Valley Police Department.
The City wants to ensure that the U.S. Postal Service is aware of what Moreno Valley residents are experiencing, and is urging postal officials to work with us on potential solutions. Residents can assist by sharing their insight on this problem by responding to a short online survey on the Let's Talk MoVal page. Please sign-up for a MySidewalk account to access the Let's Talk MoVal page.

Honor Your Hero!

The City of Moreno Valley proudly installs Military Appreciation Banners and Pavers in support of local military personnel. With this program, the City hopes to help preserve the sense of patriotism and pride those who serve, or have served, in the United States military.

Though applications may be submitted any time, the City is currently accepting banner and paver installation orders from the community for installation by the Veterans' Day Ceremony. Applications are due by October 12th for a Veteran's Day installation.

To recognize a veteran or active duty personnel with this honor, please contact the City's Parks & Community Services Department at 951.413.3701 or visit www.moval.org for more information and download the application.
