TWIA Updates Don't & Won't Stop!

Jim Rich and Tom Broussard attended the Board of Directors Meeting for the Texas Association of Business in Austin on last Friday. At the meeting, the association approved their Legislative Agenda which for the first time includes language urging the reform of the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association in the coming legislative session. Also,Sara Tays was elected Chair-Elect for TAB for 2015. She will be representing the Beaumont Chamber as a consultant on the TWIA reform efforts.

Beaumont City Councilman Shines Amongst Many

Beaumont city councilman and chamber member, Dr. Alan B. Coleman, was named a finalist for the Alumnus of the Year Award from the University of Texas School of Dentistry at its annual gala held on September 19, 2014.

Help Our Chairman Chuck Kalkbrenner

Plans are being made for a "Give it Up for Chuck" fundraiser, which will occur on Saturday, October 18th. Please save the date! Pre-sale event tickets are available at the Chamber office. The evening will include food, entertainment, an auction and raffle with the purpose of assisting Chuck with his rehabilitation expenses.
