TWIA Reform Campaign & GBCOC Government Affairs

The Apartment Association of Southeast Texas and others voted to contribute funds for the coming campaign to reform TWIA.These funds will go toward the hiring of a professional consultant to lead TWIA reform efforts in Austin. We are asking other groups to consider their financial participation in the effort.

Regional Economic Development Initiative

The region's economic development professionals met last week at Larry's French Market for their monthly gathering. The discussion included updates from each community, which points to very positive growth and new opportunities. 

Our Chairman Chuck Kalkbrenner

Plans are being made for a "Give it Up for Chuck" fundraiser which will occur on Saturday, October 18th at the former Golden Triangle Powersports facility on Interstate 10 from 7 pm to 10 pm. Please save the date.  Pre-event tickets will go on sale this week for $20 at the Chamber office. The evening will include food, entertainment, an auction and raffle with the purpose of assisting Chuck with his rehabilitation expenses. He currently is in a rehabilitation hospital in Conroe, TX. More details will follow.
