SETX Economic Development Foundation at Work

SETEDF authorized the funding of Burkeshire Plantation II through the US Small Business Administration's Real Estate Advantage Loan Program. Burkeshire Plantation is a wedding and events venue in Conroe, Texas. Once funded, the project will add $454,000 to SETEDF's loan portfolio.

SETEDF also participated in a prospect visit last week which was followed by a comprehensive conference call this week. The prospect is interested in locating a $50M sustainable manufacturing facility in Southeast Texas. Lamar University's research capabilities and the regions logistical infrastructure makes it an advantageous location for the prospect.

Cirque Du Spice This Past Friday!

The Beaumont Chamber Foundation's 2014 14th Annual Spice of the Season event on August 8 was a huge success. The circus theme this year was a hit with the crowd. Cirque Du Spice was filled with laughs, singing and dancing, and was an overall fun experience for both the participants and guests. The funny money was rolling in and this year's event was one of the most successful in regards to providing funds for Leadership Beaumont and its programs. Pictures on Facebook coming soon!
