When We Say 'Safety First,' We Mean It
We discuss safety daily at HarenLaughlin. It's our culture and a part of our everyday job site conversation. Nothing could have made me more proud than to have our company, for the first time in our 81 year history, qualify for the AGC's National Construction Safety Excellence Award program. To qualify, a recommendation was required from our local AGC chapter. From this recommendation, HarenLaughlin was selected as a national finalist.
The review panel recognized the excellent job each of our team does in maintaining a safe work environment. We realize that our team's work with us is only a part of their day. It is our goal, EVERY day, to send them home safely to their families. I was pleased to stand before the review panel to share that for nearly six years, we've been successful in doing so.
Congratulations to our team for their contribution to this success. We came home from this competition as 3rd in the COUNTRY in what is the most competitive category. There are more general contractors of our size than any other competing in this group. This recognition says something about how we do business and what values we hold to be most important - safety and quality.
While we appreciate the recognition of our efforts awards like these provide, the most important thing still remains having our team return safely to their families at the end of the day. Thank you to all of our team for their continued efforts to continue to work safely on every job site every day -

Project Updates
Work on The Heights at Delaware Ridge is progressing with 13 of the 17 buildings framed, drywall and paint complete in seven buildings, and 15 concrete pads poured.
Amenities at the apartment community include a clubhouse, fitness center and swimming pool. HarenLaughlin's early involvement in the development has allowed for phased planning in the construction process, with the first buildings slated for occupancy later in 2013.
Greenwood Senior Living Community
Site work continues on this 36,000 square foot senior living community in Greenwood, Indiana. The completed community will offer 16 memory care units and 42 assisted living units, along with private dining, community gathering areas and enclosed courtyards for residents to enjoy outdoor activity.
As the Construction Manager, HarenLaughlin is directing all phases of the project including site work, permitting, subcontractor selection and management of daily construction operations.
Construction is scheduled to continue through 2013. |
