We live in the age of SPECIALIZATION!
Not all doctors are surgeons. And even the surgeon usually specializes in just a handful of surgical procedures.
At Huntsville Hospital (HHS) we have TOC (The Orthopedic Center), we have THC (The Heart Center), we have the Womens & Childrens Hospital (WCH) and more, yet they are all in relation to the greater and larger HHS!
There are floor nurses, neonatal nurses, clinic nurses, office nurses, surgery room nurses and hundreds of more specialties.
We in the body of Christ neutralize our own effectiveness when we try to make our churches and ministries everything to everyone!

Each of us need to decide what God thinks is a waste of time or a drain of our precious energy!
It's occurred to me lately that there is A LOT that I am not even SUPPOSED to be good at! I am SUPPOSED to be LOUSY at a LOT OF THINGS!
It's ALRIGHT to only be good at a few things! As a matter of fact it is BETTER to be good at ONLY a limited number of things!
LASER LIKE FOCUS IS REQUIRED TO BE EFFECTIVE IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD!

There are MANY THINGS I COULD be doing, but it is more an issue of what I SHOULD be doing!
People can INADVERTENTLY pressure you into spreading yourself too thin! So only YOU YOURSELF can control this dynamic. Don't be at the mercy of the crowd around you! Let God help you FINE TUNE!
Just because someone else is doing THIS OR THAT doesn't mean I am supposed to be doing THIS OR THAT!
Sometimes, like a haircut, our lives, ministries and activities need THINNING!
A tree grows best and fastest when it is PRUNED on occasion.
In the church world we need to become more like the world of DOCTORS who are constantly referring people to OTHER SPECIALISTS!

God didn't call US to be exactly like THEM!
God didn't call YOU to be exactly like ME!
Significance is NEVER found in ones similarity to another, but in ones sui generis!
Targeted, Focused, Specialized, Laser-Like, Aimed, Unique, Classy!
To succeed in life I must become an EXPERT IGNORER!
What is REALLY IMPORTANT? That set of MOST IMPORTANTS might be somewhat different than other folks. Some of your REALLY IMPORTANTS may be universal to all, but some are UNIQUE and CUSTOMIZED to Gods Plan that is exclusive to only you! Define these things! And as you go, continue to refine these things for maximum impact!
