Seeking The Heart of God!
Psalms 105:4 (KJV) - 4 Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
Psalms 105:4-5 (NIV) - Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. 5 Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced.
Seek His face, not just His favors!
Seek His heart, not just His hand!
I want the heart of God to become my own.
I want the Father to duplicate His heart in mine!
I want to possess God's heart for others.
I want God's heart for the poor.
Proverbs 28:27 (KJV) - 27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
I want God's heart for the sick.
Acts 10:38 (KJV) - 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
I want God's heart for the depressed and distressed.
Proverbs 12:25 (KJV) - 25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
I want God's heart for marriages.
Proverbs 18:22 (KJV) - 22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
I want God's heart for families.
Proverbs 22:6 (KJV) - 6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
I want God's heart for America.
Proverbs 14:34 (MSG) - 34 God-devotion makes a country strong; God-avoidance leaves people weak.
I want God's heart for the nations!
Matthew 24:14 (KJV) - 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
I want my heart to break over that which God's heart breaks.
I want my desires to line up with God's desires.
Psalms 37:4 (KJV) - 4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
I want to want what He wants! (That way I get all my prayers answered too! LOL!)
I want to possess His priorities!
I want to value what My Father values highly.
Luke 16:15 (KJV) - 15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
I want to hate what God hates: Sin, Sickness, Poverty and Death!
Psalms 97:10 (KJV) - 10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
I want to hate what God hates: All lies, all deception, and all false ideologies and man-made philosophies.
1 Timothy 6:20-21 (KJV) - 20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: 21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.
I want to hate what God hates: Divorce, Family Disintegration, and Strife!
Malachi 2:13-17 (MSG) - 13 And here's a second offense: You fill the place of worship with your whining and sniveling because you don't get what you want from GOD. 14 Do you know why? Simple. Because GOD was there as a witness when you spoke your marriage vows to your young bride, and now you've broken those vows, broken the faith-bond with your vowed companion, your covenant wife. 15 GOD, not you, made marriage. His Spirit inhabits even the smallest details of marriage. And what does he want from marriage? Children of God, that's what. So guard the spirit of marriage within you. Don't cheat on your spouse. 16 “I hate divorce,” says the GOD of Israel. GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies says, “I hate the violent dismembering of the ‘one flesh' of marriage.” So watch yourselves. Don't let your guard down. Don't cheat. 17 You make GOD tired with all your talk. “How do we tire him out?” you ask. By saying, “GOD loves sinners and sin alike. GOD loves all.” And also by saying, “Judgment? GOD's too nice to judge.”
(God doesn't want us to hate people who have experienced divorce; but He DOES want us to hate the phenomenon of divorce and all that it does to rip people's hearts and families to shreds. He wants us to do EVERYTHING to prevent it wherever possible.)
2 Timothy 2:22-26 (MSG) - 22 Run away from infantile indulgence. Run after mature righteousness—faith, love, peace—joining those who are in honest and serious prayer before God. 23 Refuse to get involved in inane discussions; they always end up in fights. 24 God's servant must not be argumentative, but a gentle listener and a teacher who keeps cool, 25 working firmly but patiently with those who refuse to obey. You never know how or when God might sober them up with a change of heart and a turning to the truth, 26 enabling them to escape the Devil's trap, where they are caught and held captive, forced to run his errands.
Father, give me Your heart for people!
Father, give me Your plan for global conquest!
Father, give me the same love you have for the world!
Seeking The Heart of God!
Father, help me practice loving my wife.
Father, help me practice loving my children and parents.
Father, to the degree I can love those closest to me on a daily basis, to that very measure and no more... can I love the world.
Father, teach me to treat people like princes and princesses, honoring and respecting them to the utmost!
Lord, may I become a CHAMPION COMFORTER to others in pain!
Ecclesiastes 4:1 (KJV) 4:1 - So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.
Lord, make me a MASTER ENCOURAGER to those ready to quit!
Job 29:21-25 (MSG) - 21 “Men and women listened when I spoke, hung expectantly on my every word. 22 After I spoke, they'd be quiet, taking it all in. 23 They welcomed my counsel like spring rain, drinking it all in. 24 When I smiled at them, they could hardly believe it; their faces lit up, their troubles took wing! 25 I was their leader, establishing the mood and setting the pace by which they lived. Where I led, they followed.
