Logic vs. Logos

God has not called us to live out of our logic. God has called us to live in obedience.

Ephesians 4:17 KJV - This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk , in the vanity of their mind...

Obedience is the higher way. Yes, of course God gave us logic to serve many valid purposes, but logic is of limited use in relating to God. Our logic is subject to our fallen nature and can often be flawed.

The call is to OBEY, not to REASON and to think everything out via our logic and reasoning faculties. Yes, God has given us deductive abilities, but all these mental powers must still be subject to God's higher mental capacity and His decisions about things.

The quicker we come to the conclusion that man is not very smart compared to God, the quicker we can get on with the simplicity and relaxation of living out of a posture of obedience.

God has not called us to second guess His every decision and to rationalize our way through life. We cannot pick and choose what parts of God's Word are fair and which are not. We are not as wise as Him! Obedience is so much simpler!

The very PURPOSE of faith is to appropriate the higher truths of God OVER AND AGAINST the lower truths (facts) of the circumstances we face. Faith is SUPPOSED to be the opposite of what we presently see or feel. Faith is for changing what we've been experiencing. This is why the scripture calls it "the good FIGHT of faith." Faith goes cross-grain, swims upstream, and bucks the natural order of things in a fallen world. That's why it's often a struggle when you decide to use your faith to defy all odds! JOIN THE CLUB! Faith is POWER to believe AGAINST the temporary and present conditions. Faith naturally DISAGREES with the seeming finality of the present problem. Faith brings to bear Gods higher truth that trumps the situation. Faith is NOT denying the facts of the situation, but trumping them with God's higher truths.

Faith agrees with God despite what it sees and feels. Faith OPPOSES the natural order of things in order to bring Gods supernatural order to the situation.

Faith chooses and refuses.

Faith takes steps after prayer.

Pray and take steps, pray and take steps. Prayer without taking steps is fruitless. Taking steps without praying first is futile.

If it feeds your weaknesses, cease that activity altogether.

If it feeds your strengths, continue that activity by all means.

If someone tries to make you feel good about yourself without JESUS CHRIST IN THE EQUATION, they are a false prophet and you do NOT need them in your life.

Affirmation of worth can only be found in connection to Christ. Without Him, you and I are both worth little.

John 15:5 KJV - I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing .

As someone has noted, "O how wretched I am in myself; but O how wonderful I am in Christ!"

Ephesians 2:10 NLT - For we are GOS'S MASTERPIECE. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Kindness is its own reward.

Gentleness is its own reward.

Tenderness is its own reward.

Giving is its own reward.

Tithing is its own reward.

Doing the right thing is its own reward.

Nothing feels any better deep within you than doing the right thing.

Doing the right thing make you feel good in your heart of hearts.

To obey is easier than to stray.

The noblest way of living is living out of obedience to God.

Logic and reasoning make great servants, but poor masters.

The finer things of life are only discovered and experienced in the very presence of God.

Jesus came to invigorate us with RELATIONSHIP and to liberate us from mere RULES KEEPING.

China is two nations just like America. In China you have the unbelieving socialists and the burgeoning nation of the body of Christ within her borders. Don't curse all of China... there is great revival there and millions of strong believers who pray like a house of fire. Likewise in America we are two nations. The liberals are the godless with a postmodern worldview because they have no other source but the Government. They have no clue about where they came from or where they are going for eternity. They don't know God at all or if they do know Him, they are baby Christians who have not developed a Christian worldview. yet due to STUPID RELIGIOUS LEADERS. Ideology is their only god. But Christians look far past any human government and their values for government and society are thus deducted from Gods Word like America's founders.

Logic is a nice servant but a hard taskmaster.

Logic is a tool, not a god in and of itself.

Don't become a slave to your own logic or someone else's.

In our postmodern culture the human mind is exalted as the ultimate centrality of the universe. But this completely ignores the human epidemic of sin and its only solution: Jesus!

1 Corinthians 1:11-31 MSG - It's written, I'll turn conventional wisdom on its head, I'll expose so-called experts as crackpots. 20 So where can you find someone truly wise, truly educated, truly intelligent in this day and age? Hasn't God exposed it all as pretentious nonsense? 21 Since the world in all its fancy wisdom never had a clue when it came to knowing God, God in his wisdom took delight in using what the world considered dumb - preaching, of all things! - to bring those who trust him into the way of salvation. 22 While Jews clamor for miraculous demonstrations and Greeks go in for philosophical wisdom, 23 we go right on proclaiming Christ, the Crucified. Jews treat this like an anti-miracle - and Greeks pass it off as absurd. 24 But to us who are personally called by God himself - both Jews and Greeks - Christ is God's ultimate miracle and wisdom all wrapped up in one. 25 Human wisdom is so tinny, so impotent, next to the seeming absurdity of God. Human strength can't begin to compete with God's "weakness." 26 Take a good look, friends, at who you were when you got called into this life. I don't see many of "the brightest and the best" among you, not many influential, not many from high-society families. 27 Isn't it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, 28 chose these "nobodies" to expose the hollow pretensions of the "somebodies"? 29 That makes it quite clear that none of you can get by with blowing your own horn before God. 30 Everything that we have - right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start - comes from God by way of Jesus Christ. 31 That's why we have the saying, "If you're going to blow a horn, blow a trumpet for God."

Liberal ideology like socialism, abortion, gay marriage, immorality, climate change, big government, hyper-environmentalism (green gone wild), atheism, postmodernism, government mandated redistribution of wealth, etc. all comes from flawed human logic generated from the minds of unregenerated men devoid of Christ and ignorant of Gods Word.

Only consecrated Born Again men can come to the right conclusions with their logic. That's because their logic is tempered, controlled and bounded by the Lordship of Jesus and their obedience to Him.

If human logic could solve all the problems of humanity then the ills of society would have been solved long ago. So many human philosophies have come and gone, and come again in different guises, that by now we should be gods ourselves.

Dethrone your own logic and reasoning and make it submissive to the centrality and Lordship of Jesus. The result: Peace and Satisfaction. Truth! Correct Conclusions!

Men try to be gods by living out of their logic. The more and more they reason without God's Word, the more they worship their own deductive skills... so much so that over time, they worship their own ideas and become slaves to them. (e.g. abortion, evolution, food stamps, global warming, state welfare, government entitlements, gay marriage, pornified culture, etc. ad infinitum ad nauseum!)

I choose The Logos (God's written Word) over Logic. My logic must bow to the Logos. The Logos is perfect; my logic imperfect!
