Psalm 84:10 KJV - For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Smith Wigglesworth summarized it many years ago, "I'd rather be under God's anointing for one second than to own the world with a fence around it."
Just a few moments in God's manifested presence is better than days on end without it. His presence is everything. All other pleasures pale in comparison to the uncommon pleasure of being in His presence.
And to do anything in God's house is a privilege of the highest order. To be able to serve the Creator and Redeemer of the universe in any capacity is of utmost pleasure and honor. The Lord help us to to discern the value of what God Himself values. And the Lord help us to do whatever we do for Him with excellence, preparation, humility, and a with great attitude.
I had rather be a doorkeeper in God's house than to be a household name or a famous star in men's eyes.
I don't have to be sensational, just significant. Whatever God requires of me has eternal significance and representing Him in any capacity is a high honor indeed.
