These bulletin announcements are meant to be a helpful resource for those of you who put your congregations' bulletins together on a weekly basis. If there are ways we could present this information more effectively please don't hesitate to pass on your ideas or give feedback.
Some churches forward the following information and community life announcements to their attenders using email while others post various events in their weekly bulletin, on their church website, or Facebook page.

ACC Office Updates |
During the week of May 4 the ACC office will have limited office hours.
Merv Stoltzfus will begin the second portion of his sabbatical on May 1. He will return at the end of June.
Brook will be travelling and out of the office until May 11.

Hosting Missions and Service Leaders |
Prior to the Mennonite World Conference this summer, the Global Mission Fellowship and Global Anabaptist Service Networks will be meeting for study and fellowship.
Ron Byler, MCC Executive Director, is assisting with organizing this time and is asking for 6-8 ACC churches to host 4 or 5 of these leaders on Sunday morning, July 19.
Hosting would include inviting 4-5 individuals to attend the usual Sunday morning service and then providing a noon meal in a church member's home afterward. Providing transportation is not required. Please contact the ACC office if this may be something your congregation could contribute to.

Bus to MWC Assembly |
Numerous people have indicated interest in participating in a chartered bus to and from the Mennonite World Conference Assembly in Harrisburg this July. If you would appreciate this opportunity as an alternative to driving and parking at the Farm Show Complex, contact Brook Musselman in the ACC office, brookm@atlanticcoastconference.net

ACC service project for MWC
|
Mennonite World Conference (MWC) is expecting 125+ children ages 4-11 from all over the world to attend the Assembly in July. As part of the children's programming, we would like to have the children do several service projects. We need your help to collect the items needed for Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) School Kits so that we can fill school kit bags and send these much-needed supplies to children all over the world! We are in need of the following items for each bag (new items only):
- 4 spiral or perforated notebooks (8 1/2 x 10 1/2 in and 70 sheets)
- 8 unsharpened pencils
- 1 ruler (flat, flexible plastic; indicating both 30 cm and 12 in)
- 12 colored pencils (in packaging)
- 1 large pencil eraser
If your church would be willing to collect and donate the contents for some of our school kits, contact Becky Degan at BeckyDegan@mwc-cmm.org.

ACC Display for Global Church Village at MWC Assembly
|
One of the Mennonite World Conference Assembly highlights will be the Global Church Village (GCV), where guests will be able to explore and learn about the life and mission of local churches around the world.
ACC will be holding a display in the GCV and is looking for any level of involement from conference congregations. If you would like to contribute an idea, a visual, or your time to this display, contact the ACC office, office@atlanticcoastconference.net

Many new child abuse laws took effect in Pennsylvania on December 31, 2014 that will have an impact on churches and ministries with children's programs.

Friendship Community's Annual Fest and Auction

You are invited to attend Friendship Community's 22nd Annual Fest & Auction held Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9, at the Friendship Community

New Danville Campus Country Auction March 27

Kraybill Campus Pig Roast & Benefit Auction May 8
Lancaster Mennonite School's Kraybill Campus in Mount Joy will hold its annual benefit auction and Pig Roast Friday, May 8. Activities open at 3 p.m. and the auction begins at 4 p.m. Food includes Hess's famous pig roast, Gene Wenger's hamloaf, Gish's ice cream, Derby Don's kettle corn and homemade baked goods. Activities for children include a dunk tank, inflatable obstacle course and BERG pedal-cars. Auction items include unique experiences, vacation getaways, lawn and garden items, a riding lawn tractor, quilts, furniture, gift items and flowers. Auditions for Children's Choir
Children in grades 2-12 are invited to audition for the Mennonite Children's Choir of Lancaster 2015-2016 year. Singers meet Tuesday evenings September through May to rehearse for a fall and spring concert series. Auditions are being held Tuesday, May 19 and Wednesday May 20. Memory Loss Support Group to Focus on Challenging Behaviors
 There will be a meeting for caregivers of persons with memory loss and other forms of dementia on Tuesday, May 26 at Landis Homes. The topic for the meeting will be "Managing Challenging Behaviors," presented by Candy Yingling, CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist). Yingling is the Education and Outreach Coordinator with the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Pennsylvania, Harrisburg. The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. in the Warwick Room of The Heritage, the special care center at Landis Homes at 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz. 
The group is operating in partnership with the Alzheimer's Association of the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter. The public is invited. Respite care is provided on site upon 24-hour prior request. For more information or to arrange for respite care, call Landis Homes (717) 581-3939.

Mark your calendars for the Landis Homes Fellowship Day - Benefit Auction and Chicken Barbecue. This year it will be held September 12. Auction Proceeds benefit the Caring Fund . Chicken BBQ by the Landis Homes Auxiliary supports numerous projects that enrich the lives of residents. More information is to come.
Since its beginning more than 25 years ago, more than 1,350 individuals and their families and caregivers, choosing to care for loved ones at home, have benefited from Adult Day Services at Landis Home's safe and nurturing environment. One of the two centers on campus is designed specifically for those with later stages of memory loss, offering a unique day service to Lancaster County. Youth groups serving through K-teams
EMM's Kingdom Teams (or K-teams) offer youth/young adult groups the opportunity to engage in cross-cultural mission within a local context for one week during the summer months. This summer, join Wilkens Avenue Mennonite Church in Baltimore, Md., in serving their diverse community through prayer walks, children's ministry, and more. Ministry activities will be mixed with discipleship training that helps participants grow as disciples. Available weeks are June 17-21 and June 24-28.
