Church Policy Sharing

Occasionally, congregations change and update their church policies and when they do, its helpful to see what other congregations are including in their own policies. 

As a service to our member churches, we would appreciate having an electronic copy of your church's policies on file to assist other churches in their own policy development. If willing, please email the relevent documents to office@atlanticcoastconference.net.

 

Mennonite Women Event

Interested in connecting with other women and giving back to the community? Women of all ages,please join ACC and Lancaster Conference women on Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 9 AM to 12:30 PM at MCC Material Resource Center, 517 Trout Run Rd., Ephrata.  After a morning of service, enjoy a soup lunch. Please bring your own bowl and spoon, and a pint of chicken corn or vegetable soup to share! 

 

 

Nickles for Neighbors Applications

The ACC Missions Committee is currently accepting applications to receive the 2015 Nickles for Neighbors grant.

The program involves children in mission by providing opportunity to contribute to a specific project, raising awareness and sharing generously with others.

Global Anabaptism Series

You are invited to learn more about Anabaptist related churches around the globe in preparation for the Mennonite World Conference gathering in Harrisburg, PA July 21-26, 2015. On the Wednesday evenings at Ridgeview Mennonite Churcha speaker will share regarding Anabaptist related churches on each of the five continents.

**Important: New PA State Child Abuse Laws 

 
Many new child abuse laws took effect in Pennsylvania on December 31 that will have an impact on churches and ministries with children's programs. 


 
Contact Brook Musselman in the conference office if you're interested in learning more about resources to help your church remain compliant and develop practices to make your church a safe place for all. 

 

ACC is partnering with Lancaster Mennonite Conference to offer an informational meeting on the new PA state child abuse laws. The remaining meeting will be held on April 7. See the link above or contact either conference office for more information.

Youth Ministry Council is for all youth workers (pastors/sponsors/leaders) to network, resource, and examine the latest in youth ministry in our church and world. This year, Felipe Hinojosa will present on how to talk with youth about race and racism in the 21st century.

Kansas City '15 Registration is open!

These winter temps may make summer seem far away, but the Mennonite Church USA convention in Kansas City, June 30-July 5, 2015, will be here before you know it. The Executive Board is encouraging congregations to identify and register delegates early, so that they can participate in a survey of all delegates which will be sent out in February. Creating Congregational Cultures of Generosity

 

Registration is now open for the next Creating Congregational Cultures of Generosity  (CCCG) workshop. This one day workshop will be held on Saturday May 16 from 8:00-5:00  at our 2160 Lincoln Highway East Everence office in the meeting room of Lancaster Mennonite Conference.  

 

Beryl Jantzi, Everence Director of Stewardship, will be the presenter for this workshop.  The cost will be $189 per team, which includes all the materials and lunch for 3-4 team members from your church.  The lead pastor is required to be one of the participating team members.  Please see the attached CCCG overview flier and share it with anyone else you think might be interested in participating in this workshop.

LMS Pastors Breakfast

SALT: Serving And Learning Together


Know a young adult who might be interested in a year-long, cross-cultural service experience? Through Mennonite Central Committee's Serving and Learning Together (SALT) program, young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 from the U.S. and Canada serve internationally in a wide variety of positions in fields like education, agriculture, health care, information technology, peace and more! Service Opportunities with Youth Venture

 

Service doesn't have to wait. Join Youth Venture this summer to serve and learn with Mennonite youth from Japan, Lithuania, Ecuador, France and Philadelphia! Tuesday, February 24, is the next meeting of the Memory Loss Support Group.  The meeting takes place at 7:00 PM in the Warwick Room at Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA.  Erika Nevins, Landis Homes Director of Life Enrichment, and her team will present, " Life Enrichment through Activities and Interaction."    The event is Co-Sponsored by Landis Homes and the Alzheimer's Association-Greater Pennsylvania Chapter. Respite Care is provided upon request, with 24 hours advance notice.  For questions or to make respite care arrangements, please call (717) 581-3939. Latin American Celebration

Come and enjoy a panel discussion about the Anabaptists of Latin America at 7 pm on Monday, February 23 at Akron Mennonite Church. Learn their story and share in their music and food. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about global Anabaptism prior to Mennonite World Conference Assembly this summer.


 Pies in the Mennonite Tradition

Stop by the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society on Saturday, March 14 between 6:00 and 8:30 p.m. to learn how to make pie crusts, and to sample some slices with a cup of coffee for yourself.
