At least twice prior to an event is recommended. Perhaps you could use a calendar of future events in your bulletin and list it in a shortened form after the initial announcement has been made.

ACC Fall Annual Assembly CelebrationOctober 25-26, Akron MC, 1311 Diamond Street, Akron, Pa.  

 

Leadership Resource Day, Friday, October 25, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, two tracks of study:

 

1) Healthy Congregations led by Richard Blackburn from the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center (for pastors and church leadership teams)

 

2) Restorative Justice Practices co-presented by Lorraine Stutzman Amstutz and Jim Amstutz (for individuals or groups working at restoration in victim/offender issues)

 

Fall Assembly Celebration, Saturday, October 26, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Theme: God's Power at Work based on Ephesians 3:14-21, Nancy Kauffmann, preacher (bulletin insert download here).

The Hebron School in Israel

The Hebron School in Israel was started by the late Ada and Ida Stoltzfus, members of Conestoga Mennonite Church, who worked with Mennonite Central Committee in this Muslim region. Today, the School is expanding to two schools in nearby Bethlehem. An informative dinner meeting will be held on Thursday evening, September 19, at Conestoga Mennonite Church, Morgantown, Pa., beginning at 6:15 p.m. David Garrison will show videos of the school, and David W. Shenk will share "Acsah's Joy-Hebron's Springs" relating it to how God continues to open doors for a life-long impact on the Muslim children and parents in this volatile area. Landis Homes Fellowship Day

Residents, team members and volunteers at Landis Homes are hard at work preparing for another exciting Fellowship Day with a benefit auction, chicken BBQ, and children's activities. Friendship Heart Gallery at Steeple View Lofts

It's official...Friendship Heart Gallery has moved to downtown Lancaster, and we are excited to be a part of the city's thriving art scene. You can find our new Gallery at Steeple View Lofts, 118 North Water Street, Suite 101, Lancaster, PA 17603*. We think you will be impressed with our new Studio space, which will allow us to open our classes to more Individuals. Please join us for our Grand Opening on Friday, September 13, 3:00-8:00 pm. Ribbon cutting, festive music and tasty delectables are all in store for the evening! Syrian Refugee Crisis
 
Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) received a special request for winter clothing and shoes for the country of Lebanon, as they receive Syrian refugees. This is a one-time, special request for August and September 2013 only, to be shipped by late September/early October. The items can be for children, women, and men. Items should be in good condition (clean, not too worn, no holes) and should have no religious or patriotic messages. Coats; sweaters; long sleeve shirts/blouses; long pants; backpacks; shoes, especially men's shoes (no slippers); very long skirts (ankle length only) for women. Seminar: Leaders Talk about Their Sexuality

Lancaster Mennonite Conference and Garden Spot Village will sponsor a morning seminar entitled "Leaders Talk About their Sexuality" on Thursday, October 24 (7:30-10:00 a.m.) at the Garden Spot Village Chapel. This seminar for pastors, youth pastors, and leaders will be resourced by Bruce and Ruthie Lengeman. Cost per person is $10.00 including breakfast. Mennonite Children's Choir of Lancaster

The Mennonite Children's Choir of Lancaster, serving all of Lancaster County, is announcing a new program, Prelude Music, for children in grades K-2. Download the news release here.
 
Eastern Mennonite Missions' Annual Banquet

Save the date! The Hospitality of the Two-Handed Tea, Eastern Mennonite Missions' annual mission vision banquet, will take place on Friday, November 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lancaster County Convention Center. EMM Lock-In for Youth

Register now! CALLED. maybe? is Eastern Mennonite Missions' lock-in for youth at Landisville Mennonite Church on November 8-9 from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Bob Phillips, EMM worker in Amsterdam for 20 years, will help youth  discover how to share Jesus with friends in a genuine way. Lancaster Christian Council on Disability

 

The Lancaster Christian Council on Disability (of which Friendship Community and No Longer Alone Ministries are members) and Joni & Friends Eastern PA are hosting a Disability Ministry Summit on Saturday October 19, 2013 at Calvary Church in Lancaster. The summit is designed to educate and train local churches for disability ministries. The registration link is

Churches are encouraged to send groups of 4 or more which will also reduce the cost per person. Lunch is included in the registration fee.
