Beyond Ourselves Benefit Concert
Lancaster's Beyond Ourselves chamber ensemble is teaming up with the Eastern Mennonite University (EMU) Chamber Singers to present a benefit concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at Mount Joy Mennonite Church. Beyond Ourselves musicians are saxophonist Ryan Kauffman, violist Christy Kauffman, pianist Rosemary Blessing, and clarinetist Doris Hall-Gulati. The concert will benefit a Mennonite Central Committee program that helps children in Burkina Faso, West Africa, who have been orphaned due to AIDS. "Grief, Spirituality and Sexuality: Life after Losing a Spouse" Retreat at Laurelville

 

March 15-17, 2013. Led by Rachel Nafziger Hartzler and Angela Dietzel. Specifically for widowed people and those who walk with them. Will include sessions on loss, lament, spirituality, sexuality, and hope, and a session for pastors and other caregivers who journey alongside people who are grieving. Forum for Ministry to Children and Youth at Risk
April 6, 2013, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. * EMM Meetinghouse, Salunga, Pa. Stories, discussions, and corporate prayer. All who are involved or interested in reaching out to children/youth at risk both locally and around the world are invited. Sponsored by EMM. MMN seeks Development Associate
 

Mennonite Mission Network has an immediate opening for a full-time development associate whose primary responsibility is to strengthen relationships with constituents and solicit financial support. Work will be based in one of the Mennonite Church USA offices in Elkhart, Ind., or Newton, Kan., with regular travel to other U.S. locations. Candidates should bring a passion for God's mission to the world, and the ability to build relationships, listen perceptively, and elicit participation. Duties include: Creating documents using Microsoft Word and Excel; sharing coordination of print and email communications, answering phones and greeting visitors, maintaining files, data entry and retrieval from CMCL database, use of financial software to write checks and create financial reports, availability to pastors and church staff for personal assistance.
