Although small in size, Israel holds a rich and vibrant history that dates back to ancient times - back when Jesus walked the earth and beyond. Leadership Tools by Dr. Don Meyer
|
Packer, J. I. and Nystrom, Carolyn. Praying: Finding Our Way through Duty to Delight. InterVarsity Press, 2006.
It is a safe assumption that Christians would admit to spending time in prayer, but it is not always a safe assumption that Christians would admit to spending time in effective and fervent prayer. To some of us there may be a large gap between where our current prayer life stands and where we think it should be. Maybe we are at a loss for words when we try to speak to God. Maybe a sense of mundane routine has overtaken our passion for prayer. Authors Packer and Nystrom address the difficulties that we may face when trying to spend time in prayer and use the reality of who our God is as a means to help us overcome those difficulties in their book, "Praying: Finding Our Way Through Duty to Delight." Furthermore, Packer and Nystrom act as spiritual coaches as they encourage and guide the reader from prayer as a mere obligation to prayer as a delight. This book is a helpful tool to activate a zeal for communing with God in a believer's heart.
