Sweet, Leonard. "From Tablet to Table: Where Community is Found and Identity is Formed." NavPress, 2015.

I love learning from Dr. Leonard Sweet. Whenever I hear him speak, or read his writing, I am challenged and inspired. His most recent book "From Tablet to Table" is a timely word to all of us regarding the value of fellowship, quality time together. In today's world, it is so easy to be distracted by our tablets, smartphones and televisions. Sweet encourages us to come together, create a safe space in our homes, and prioritize time to encourage one another in faith. Jesus is our great example as He was constantly sharing about the Kingdom of God through stories, with people, and often over a meal. Could our impact as followers of Jesus grow if we spend time together with believers and the lost over a meal? In addition to the spiritual growth that can occur, there is documented significance of the enormous influence, especially on children, which takes place when families gather around the dinner table. If we don't somehow find a way to meet at the table, we will miss much more than a home cooked meal.
