Leadership Tools by Dr. Don Meyer
|
Salciccioli, Greg. "The Enemies of Excellence: 7 Reasons Why We Sabotage Success." Crossroad, 2011.
Navigating the waters of leadership is no easy task. There are obstacles that loom around every corner. Some we create on our own while others just show up at our doorstep trying to trip us up. No matter how great of a leader we think we are, there will always be something or someone ready to remind us of our flaws and mistakes. Leadership coach and co-founder of Ministry Coaching International, Greg Salciccioli has dealt with this dilemma time and time again and has recorded his experiences, as well as those of others, to give advice for those looking to achieve excellence.
In his book "The Enemies of Excellence," Salciccioli lists and describes seven distinct things that hinder us on our road to success as leaders. From egotism to bad habits to isolation, his list makes every effort to cover a range of enemies as well as real life examples to put these monsters into perspective and encourage his readers to overcome and avoid those barriers that have caused so much failure in the past. In his life and ministry Salciccioli's goal is to help his people "be an example of excellence to better the world."
