Jonathan Capeci Named Vice President of Finance

As of July 1, 2013 Jonathan Capeci became the VFCC Vice President of Finance. Capeci came to us in 2001 as Executive Director of Finance, and has served in many roles in the Office of Finance since his start at VFCC. We are grateful for his outstanding financial expertise, as well as the tremendous Christ-like spirit that he brings to the office each day.
A Creation Festival First

VFCC played a vital role in the annual Creation Festival - the nation's largest Christian music event held in Mt. Union, Pa. Staff, students and alumni participated in both the recruitment efforts and the direction of all main stage video production, led for the first time by the VFCC Department of Digital Media, before a crowd of 70,000 people. Over the course of the four-day festival, thousands of teenagers visited the VFCC booth to learn more about VFCC and catch-up with their alma mater

Third Annual Photo Contest Winners Announced

VFCC held its third annual photo contest this spring. Students submitted over one hundred images that captured VFCC's six core values: We believe in God, We prepare for the future; We care for others; We embrace community; We affirm the dignity of all people; and We serve with creativity and excellence. A panel of five judges selected winners in each category and one overall grand prize winner. Photographs were judged based on adherence to the categories as well as technical excellence, use of metaphors or symbolism, literal or abstract design, originality, color, architectural design, angles, and creative and artistic merit.

Clay, Doug. Dreaming in 3D: Finding and Following God's Amazing Plan for Your Life. Influence Resources: Springfield, 2011.

We have all heard the comparison of people to pottery. Each piece is uniquely made by the potter. With much kneading, coiling and throwing, the ball of clay soon becomes exactly what the potter had imagined, ready to fulfill its specific purpose. Just like a piece of pottery, each person's life is shaped and formed by the circumstances that God allows it to be subject to. He knows our destiny but we just need to find it. Our dreams that are inspired by the Holy Spirit help us get there.

General Treasurer of the General Council of the Assemblies of God, Doug Clay, has been subject to many of those shaping moments which included losing his father at a young age. God used those many happenings to propel Clay into the role that he was created for. His dreams that were only two-dimensional fantasies became part of his three-dimensional reality. God had an incredible plan for Clay and through a little smoothing, shaping, and dreaming He took him there. Through his experiences Clay gives his readers some pointers on how to capture and hold tightly those God given dreams. There are often bumps along the road but we can be sure that if we cling to God, He will get us where we are going. As Jeremiah 29:11 says, God has in mind a spectacular plan for you personally but you just need to seek Him in order find it.
