Register by May 31 for the Patriot Classic

The 11th Annual Valley Forge Christian College Patriot Classic will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at the Kimberton Golf Club. For the past 11 years, golfers, churches, organizations and businesses have come together to raise over $75,000 in scholarships for deserving VFCC students. Each registration and sponsorship does not just pay for a round of golf or an awards dinner; it is a significant investment into the lives of students who will, in a few short years, make a lasting difference in our churches and communities.

This year, the Patriot Classic will include one shot gun start at 12:30 pm. It will include a kick-off lunch, as well as an awards dinner

On April 17, VFCC students, faculty and staff members once again hit the streets and neighborhoods of the Borough of Phoenixville with rakes, shovels and brooms in-hand. Graduate to Speak at High School Baccalaureate

Kathleen Bird, a 2013 VFCC graduate, will play an important role in the graduation of a group of local high school students. Upon completing a student teaching program at Owen J. Roberts High School, she has been invited back to address their graduating class in the upcoming baccalaureate service. Having just graduated herself, Bird will now be able to encourage high school graduates who are very close to her heart.

Alumnus Finds Calling at Youth for Christ

Heather Chereb '11 absolutely loves her job at Long Island Youth for Christ. However, God's call wasn't always as clear as it is today and her journey to that place has taught her quite a bit about God's faithfulness and care.

Dr. Don Meyer

Roundtree, Cathleen. The Writer's Mentor. Conari Press: Berkely, 2002.

Who of us hasn't agonized over a writing project? If only our pens would fly on their own, creating beautiful sentences to move and inspire our readers. Instead, we are stuck with just a tight grip on a pen that has no ideas of its own. Cathleen Rountree writes for people like this in "The Writer's Mentor: A Guide to Putting Passion on Paper." All of us need help to get started, to improve and to become great. From this desire to help people unleash their thoughts came "The Writer's Mentor" designed to help people write in spite of the most common roadblocks. She writes with both helpful suggestions and answers to the most common questions writers face, like "I don't have any ideas, how do I begin" or "What should I do when I'm staring at a blank page?" and "How do I deal with my self-doubts?" She also includes humorous and insightful wisdom taken from popular movies about writing.
