The Patriot Classic is Coming |
The 11th Annual Valley Forge Christian College (VFCC) Patriot Classic will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at the Kimberton Golf Club. In the past 11 years, golfers, churches, organizations and businesses have come together to raise over $75,000 in scholarships for deserving VFCC students. Each registration and sponsorship does not just pay for a round of golf or an awards dinner; it is a significant investment into the lives of students who will, in a few short years, make a lasting difference in our churches and communities. Due to the popularity of the Patriot Classic, there will be two shot gun starts. The first shot gun start begins at 7:30 am and will be limited to 72 golfers with breakfast and awards luncheon. The second shot gun start begins at 12:30 pm and will accommodate 144 golfers with lunch and awards dinner.

Leadership Tools by Dr. Don Meyer

Gruber, Dick. Cultivating a Cutting-Edge Children's Church. Morning Joy Media: Spring City, 2012. One of the most precious things we are given in life is children. Proverbs 127:3 even declares that our "children are a heritage from the Lord." They are your future and mine. With this in mind their young souls need to be cultivated in the knowledge of the Gospel whether this takes place at home, at school or at church. One of the greatest tools that we have for this is our children's ministry and its leaders that work with our children. But how can those leaders help get our young people fired up for God and keep them walking the way of the righteous when often the routine of church loses its luster? One of our very own here at VFCC has written a book on how to lead children and develop an effective life-changing service. Dick Gruber, professor of Children's Ministry, has had 37 years of experience working as a volunteer and leader in this ministry. Realizing the responsibility placed on children's ministry leaders, he has taken his knowledge, insight, and experience through the years and created a helpful resource for those who may be endeavoring to reach that next level in their ministry. What better way is there to invest in the future than in the hearts and lives of our young people?
