Pompton Lakes Debuts Album

Pompton Lakes, a band completely comprised of VFCC alumni, employees, and one student, recently produced their debut album - Rest. Since forming in January 2012, Pompton Lakes has quickly gained popularity, and their music has been met with much success. Apparently, the ingredients for great music are a few instruments and a handful of VFCC musicians!

FaithStreet Links Communities to Churches

The Internet has become the central hub of information for most people in our culture. Unfortunately, many churches have trouble making connections with folks in the digital world. Recently, because of alumnus Glenn Ericksen '09, that reality is about to change.

Alumnus Joins the News

Jay Valentin '12 turns his focus to his local news channel, but not only because he happens to be a good citizen who cares about what happens around him. After his graduation from VFCC, Valentin was hired as a Photojournalist and Editor at 69 News Allentown in Allentown, Pa. As stories flash on the TV screen, he catches glimpses of his own work, videos and interviews that he helped to create for everyone in his community to see.

VFCC Athletics Reach Out to the Community

In December, both the VFCC Office of Athletics and the VFCC women's basketball team spent a day volunteering their time to help make others' days brighter.

AG Classic Ends 25-Year Run

This year, VFCC had the honor of hosting the 25th annual, and final, Assemblies of God Classic Basketball Tournament. The tournament, held January 10-12, featured four women's teams and four men's teams competing for the championship trophy. Although both the VFCC women's and men's teams made it to the championship game, both were defeated by their respective opponents, Kentucky Christian University and Ohio Christian University. Win or lose, VFCC was honored to host the grand finale of this 25 year tradition and happy to see great athleticism and competition.

Leadership Tools by Dr. Don Meyer

Dr. Don Meyer

Davis, James O. What to Do When the Lights Go Out. Cutting Edge International: Orlando, 2010.

Life. Such a small word for such a complex thing. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, life is defined as the quality that distinguishes a vital and functional being from a dead body. Yes, life is that distinguishing quality but to each one of us it is a journey that means so much more. Everyone's life is unique. Some seem better than others, but in the end we all face some type of trials, tribulations and disappointments. It is in these situations that it can feel as though the lights go out.

Going through his own unique life journey, Dr. James O. Davis, founder of Cutting Edge International and cofounder of Billion Soul, has compiled a short book to help you move through your darkness and find the light. What is one of the most important tools we need as Christians to go through our dark times? It's faith. Faith that we are not alone. Faith in a God who has the best in mind for us even when it seems painful. Faith that God will bring us through, no matter how daunting our situation. Dr. Davis' book will have you looking at those dark situations in your life with a different perspective, reminding us of John 16:36 which says, "... In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."
