In Memory of Ruth Storms
|
How our hearts were saddened when we received the news that on Sept. 22, 2012, Ruth Storms entered heaven. Don and Ruth Storms have had incredible passion for their alma mater, Valley Forge Christian College. Back in 1997, they made a commitment to build a library to help move the College forward to a new level. At a time when there were not many persons stepping forward to make a significant difference, Don and Ruth demonstrated great faith to invest in what God was doing at Valley Forge Christian College. Over the years they have remained in contact with all that God has been doing on the campus.
In addition to naming the new library after the Storms, i.e. The Storms Research Center, they were invited back to their alma mater where Don was the Commencement Speaker in 2011. May Ruth's loved ones reflect on her husband's words. "You today are at crossroads. It is a new season for you," Storms said to the graduating class. "Your relationship with the Lord has increased." The legacy of Ruth Storms will always be a part of what VFCC has become.
In the words of a poet, "Death is not distinguishing the light. It is turning out the lamp because the dawn has come." Yes, for Ruth Storms, "the dawn has now come."
- Dr. Don Meyer, President
