CROSS and Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless Announce Sixth Annual Food Shelf Challenge Grant

Minnesota summers were made for trips to the cabin, boat rides on the lake, and farmer's market outings, not food shelf visits. But that's the reality for thousands of Minnesotans. Children are home from school and the family budget is tighter. The food shelf at CROSS Services helps provide nutritious fruits and vegetables to families and individuals in need and is asking for your assistance this summer.

CROSS and Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless announce the Sixth Annual $150,000 Food Shelf Challenge Grant. Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless will proportionally match donations to the food shelf at CROSS during the month of July, up to $5,000. The more funds CROSS raises in July, the larger the matching grant from Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless will be.  In 2014, Minnesota food shelves raised more than $1,000,000 with this grant and hope to raise even more this year.

How to Help

Since 1977, local non-profit organization CROSS has been serving families and individuals living in Rogers, Maple Grove, Osseo, Champlin (West), Corcoran, and Dayton - addressing  hunger by providing services such as a food shelf, Meals on Wheels, and more.

If you are interested in supporting families with a monetary donation to CROSS, it can be done online at CROSSservice.org, by mail or in person.

CROSS is located at 12915 Weinand Circle, P.O. Box 574, Rogers, MN 55374.

Donation hours at CROSS are:

Monday   9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday  9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Thursday  9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Friday  9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 13, 2015

JPC breaks ground at the Riverwood National development

JPC Custom Homes, Inc. recently broke ground on a model home in the Riverwood National development in Otsego, MN. The home will be featured in the upcoming Fall Parade of Homes and is a kick-off to the completion of this golf-community neighborhood. There are six additional walkout home sites available and ready to build!

As a long-time, family owned and operated local home builder, JPC Custom Homes is committed to building high-quality custom homes to fit each individual lifestyle. They treat each home build as if it were their own and provide exceptional one-on-one customer service to ensure every detail is completed seamlessly. The Ridgewood National development and JPC Custom Homes are a great match for new home buyers that are looking for a high-quality, single-level open floor plan villas on a national golf course along the beautiful rolling countryside of Otsego.

The exciting new villa floorplans feature a spacious open-concept living area, knotty alder woodwork, granite kitchen countertops, vaulted ceilings, a deck overlooking the course, two-stall garage and a tuck-under garage for golf carts. The homes have a predesigned layout with interior options to choose from to meet individual style. "We designed the villas to maximize functionality, style and golf course views," says John Kothrade, President and owner of JPC Custom Homes, "and when we say 'on the golf course,' we mean it!"

All of the available lots at Riverwood National, "A Golf Course Community," are located on the front 9 with easy access paths to the course and clubhouse. The course offers four sets of tee boxes to provide many different levels of enjoyment, with the Championship tees measuring over 7,000 yards, promising even the best golfers a challenging and rewarding round of golf. Also, the Vintage Golf Course is an 18 hole, executive links style course located across County Rd 39 (via tunnel) from Riverwood National.

The neighborhood has much more to boast about than just the golf course. Lawn care and snow removal are included for members of this Riverwood National community, allowing for more time to enjoy area attractions and recreation, such as boating or bass fishing on the Mississippi River (with access less than a mile away) or taking advantage of many nearby parks and trails. The Albertville Outlet Mall, Otsego Target, and several restaurants are just a short drive away. Coupled with nearby access to high-quality healthcare and amenities, Otsego provides the perfect balance to enjoy life.

The 2016 Fall Parade of Homes will be held September 12 - October 4. To see this model or for more information on this golf course community, please contact Jon Hartell at (763) 286-6756 or Chuck Hartell at (612) 991-7168.
