Marco Selected as North Dakota Young Professionals 2014 Best Place to Intern

 

Marco, Inc. has been selected as the North Dakota Young Professionals (NDYP) 2014 Best Place to Intern and runner-up for the 2014 Best Place to Work. The awards are a reflection of the creativity and innovation that businesses offer young professionals. "The NDYP Best Place to Intern award honors businesses that make a serious commitment to investing in young professionals through valuable internship opportunities," says Laurie Morse-Dell, NDYP Coordinator. Senior Marco team members are not only committed to the young professionals in their office, but they pay it forward by speaking to students at the University of North Dakota (UND) about how to build essential skills for a successful career. It was during one of these presentations, by Chief Executive Officer Jeff Gau and Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Warrey, that Marco caught the attention of UND student Nick Vitale. "I found their presentation to be very infor­mative and helpful, and their passion and support of their employees put Marco on my radar, because I knew that was something I wanted to be a part of. I researched the company and applied for their Operations Intern position," explains Vitale.

Vitale believes his experience and knowledge gained through interning at Marco will give him an advantage over his peers after graduation. Not only was he privileged to work closely alongside a variety of mentors at the company, but he gained first-hand experience on real and relevant projects. He also notes that "One of the most valuable takeaways from my internship was learning how to build relationships with current and prospective clients and co-workers." Plus, Vitale says, "Marco employees know how to have fun at work!" It's that best of both worlds experience - fun and hard work - that is proving to be the most desired company culture for young professionals.
