What a month May was!
The first week of May we were busy preparing for the funeral of Mike's 94 year old aunt, who had lived with us for the past 7 years. She was a great person and we will miss that special sense of humor she had.
The next week a lot of the days were spent in preparation for the 10th Anniversary of the Miami County Spring Farm Tour, as in setting up a store in the barn, mowing, etc. It was a great weekend for the tour.
The following week we were getting the farm and us ready for our vacation, we squeezed in and hosted a private bus tour for a great group of people from north central KS.
We left on the 17th to return on the 26th from our trip to California. While there we visited with all six children, six grandchildren as well as spouses, girl friends & a boy friend. Of course we did the touristy things like going to Napa Valley, San Francisco & Lake Tahoe.
The final week of May was catching up on all that work we missed while on vacation and recovering from the time difference and jet lag. A busy month, yes, but we would do it again.
And here are a couple of pictures of our hay field this year - the rains have been kind. We did get some rain in May and the hay shows it.

Recipe
We have been asked to post this recipe. It originally called for 2 pounds of Pork Tenderloin and originally came from a Facebook page and we substituted 2 lbs of emu steak for the Pork Tenderloin.
2 lbs emu steak
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 TBS Yellow Mustard
2 -3 TBS Maple Syrup
2 TBS Olive Oil
2 TBS diced dried onions
1 1/2 tsp Garlic Salt
Put everything in the crock pot and cook on low for 6 hours.
Tasted great
