It has truly been a roller coaster ride with the weather so far this winter.  We set a record high in late January with temps in the 70's, the next day it rained 1.5 inches and the third day it snowed with gusts of wind exceeding 30 mph.  All the birds were in their shelters to avoid the cold wind.  Guess it is true that in the mid-west "if you don't like the weather, wait a day, it'll change".  It just seems strange to have all the seasons in less than a week.

We now have a new addition to our family and her name is Annie.  She is a Black Labrador dog and very friendly.  She belonged to a friend of ours who passed away and the dog needed a home.  Since we loved this dog and no one in the immediate family could keep her - she was welcomed to our home.  Annie has been introduced to all of our animals and this has been received well.  All is good here at 4 D Acres.

The incubator has been loaded and now the wait begins for the chicks which are due to start hatching the end of March. 

Mark your calendars for the Miami County Spring Farm Tour, May 11 & 12.  Once again we are included and it is the 10th anniversary of this event.  There are 14 stops on the tour this weekend and you choose what stops you would like to visit.  All 14 can be visited in both days and maps will be available at each stop.
