Happy New Year from

While 2013 has already started by the time you read this, we still want to wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
With New Years we usually make resolutions/goals and this reminds me of a short story. Three frogs were sitting on a tree branch over a creek and one decided to jump in. How many frogs were left on the tree branch? Two you say - no but three. Making a decision/goal with out action does not change anything. Best of luck with your resolutions/goals this coming year.
We welcomed the New Year in with the lawn and fields covered in white as it snowed all day on the 31st of December. A nice wet snow and everything looked beautiful with this much needed moisture.

We all like to give our pets a well deserved treat
and this month we are featuring our very healthy, all natural pet treats. These are not a flavored cookie or biscuit but are made with real meat. Recipe
Here is an easy to make low calorie recipe that we truly enjoy on those cold winter evenings.
Black Bean and Salsa Soup
2 (15 oz) cans black beans drained and rinsed 1.5 cups vegetable broth 1 cup salsa 1 tsp ground cumin
In blender combine all ingredients. Blend until fairly smooth. Heat the bean mixture in a saucepan over medium heat until thoroughly heated. Serve. Makes 4.5 cups. Recipe can be doubled easily. 162 calories per 1 cup serving.
