News from the Principal                                     Oct. 26, 2013

 

Dear CCPS Parents:

 

Conferences  Thanks so much to everyone that took advantage of our Conference Day last Tuesday.  It was so great to see the partnership between our families and teachers as we all work together to help our children succeed in the classroom.   

 

Chapel Awards  Our first quarter awards chapel for grades 1-5 will be Tuesday, October 29th, in the FBC sanctuary at 9:45am. Because the church has Bible Study groups on Tuesday morning, we are asking everyone to enter through the front door of the sanctuary (McCants Drive entrance). We look forward to seeing you there! 
   

Trunk or Treat  Don't forget that everyone is invited to Trunk or Treat on Wednesday, October 30th, from 5-7:30 pm in the Publix parking lot behind Chick-fil-A on Johnnie Dodds Boulevard. Our football players and cheerleaders will be handing out candy to the younger children.  This is a great time to meet and fellowship with CCPS and FBC families.  We are still taking candy donations for this event, so if you can help please drop off your bags of candy in the school office by Tuesday, October 29th.  

 
Darkness to Light Seminar  Please mark your calendar for the Darkness to Light Seminar on Tuesday, November 12th, from 6-8pm.  This informative session is designed to help us protect our children from child sexual abuse.  Childcare will be provided for K3-5th grade children.  Please email me by Friday, November 8th if you will need childcare so that we can plan accordingly.  
 
Toys for Tots  Our Toys for Tots penny drive is underway and going strong!  Our entire school received popsicles on Thursday and Friday for meeting the $1000 goal.  Our upper and lower school class winners will be announced on Monday.  These classes will receive a Coastal Day on Wednesday, October 30th.  Our next goal is $3000 and we are almost there!  All of our students will receive 3 Coastal Days when we meet this goal.  Thanks for sending in your change and for supporting this great cause.

Winter Sports  Sign-ups are beginning for our winter sports for grades 6th-12th. This is a great way to get involved at CCPS.  Please contact Mrs. Hollingsworth for more information.
