News from the Principal                                     Oct. 19, 2013

Dear CCPS Parents:

Toys For Tots Penny Drive
Our Toys for Tots penny drive is underway and going strong!  We just met our first goal of $1000 and our student body will be receiving an ice cream party next week to celebrate.  Also, congratulations to Mrs. Balas' and Mrs. Blakeney's classes for winning our class competition.  They received a pizza party for raising the most money during the first week of the drive.  Our next competition is for a Coastal Day.  The upper school and lower school class that raises the most money between now and October 25th will receive a Coastal Day on Wednesday, October 30th.  And, when our entire school raises $3000, we will all receive 3 Coastal Days.  Thanks so much for your support for this wonderful cause!

Fall Sports Fall is such a busy time at CCPS.  We have many sporting events going on.  Please check the calendar and come out and support the Cougars!  Have you heard about the Coastal Christian Prep's Equestrian Team? It's just their second year, and the team has already doubled in size since last year. Our first year was a great success with our riders qualifying and placing at Regional Finals.  Check out the CCPS Facebook page to see pictures and times for their upcoming events.

Wax Museum  Mrs. Olesh's 5th grade class will be having their annual Wax Museum on Tuesday, October 22nd between 1:45-2:25.  Please join us in "Kids Village" upstairs by Mrs. Olesh's room.  Please be prepared to drop a coin in your favorite character's cup and watch as they come to life.  All donations go to support Toys for Tots.

Cougar Buddies  Our Cougar Buddies Program is up and running.  Upper school classes have adopted lower school classes and are getting together to read books, play games, and fellowship on a monthly basis.  This program is a great way for our older students to mentor our younger students.

Trunk or Treat

First Baptist Church has asked us to partner with them for their annual "Trunk or Treat" celebration.  This will be in the Chick-

fil-A parking lot off Johnny Dodd's Blvd on Wednesday, October 30th from 5-7:30pm.  It's a safe way for our students to dress up and receive candy in a safe environment.  To help with this, we are asking for candy donations.  Please drop off bagged candy at the school office if you would like to help with this fun event!

Have a great week!

Blessings,

Becky King
