NSCLC and Florida Advocates Publish
Medicaid Long Term Care Guides and Tips
Seeking to prepare both advocates and consumers for Florida's plan to move most consumers in long-term care to managed care, the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys, Florida Legal Services and NSCLC have published a number of easy-to-understand materials.
For advocates, there are two guides, Choosing a Managed Care Plan for Medicaid Long-Term Care, and Appeals and Fair Hearings in Florida's Managed Long-Term Care, a Q & A and a list of services entitled, What Long-Term Care Services Must a Managed Care Plan Offer?
For consumers, there is a plain language description of the new program called Consumer Tips for Enrolling in Long-term Managed Care.
The materials can be easily replicated by other states that are moving older Medicaid beneficiaries needing long-term care into managed care, and NSCLC staff can help with their development. For more information, contact Eric Carlson at [email protected].
