Chamber's Annual Meeting
Celebrates Another Successful Year
|
As we move toward the end of 2015, I want to thank our dedicated Board of Directors for their commitment and service during this past year. Together, we have accomplished so much during this year, and we celebrated those accomplishments last week at our 2015 Annual Meeting, presented by Cox Communications.
In addition to reflecting on the achievements of 2015 and passing the gavel to the incoming Chair, we also presented several leadership awards. They were as follows:
Citizen of the Year: Sam Hart, Sr.
Robert F. Hatcher Award: Judge Verda Colvin
Chamber Chairman's Award: John Hall
Ambassador of the Year: Patty Burns
MEDC Champion Award: Carter and Sloop Engineers &
Geotechnical Environmental Consultants
Congratulations to all of our very deserving award winners!
I also want to thank all of the sponsors who made the event possible. We could not do what we do throughout the year, without the financial support of our wonderful member sponsors! Thank you for your continued support of the Chamber's programs and events! We're looking forward to another busy year in 2016!

Congratulations Leadership Macon Class of 2015
|
Congratulations to the Leadership Macon Class of 2015! Each year, the class selects a group project and works to raise funds, as well as complete the project by the end of the year. This year the class spruced up a section of downtown , including installing a concrete ping pong table, painting over alley graffiti, installing bistro lighting and painting a hopscotch game in the alley and installing new park benches on Mulberry Street. They held a celebratory ribbon cutting to officially share their finished project with the community. You can check out their hard work in the alley next to The Rookery, from Mulberry Street to Poplar Street. We are so thankful for these community leaders and their love for Macon. Best of luck to each of you as you continue to be community leaders in Middle Georgia!
