HEAD OF SCHOOL MESSAGE

 

Even though Halloween has lost its Pagan/Christian roots and is celebrated throughout the USA, we kindly ask that our students not bring Halloween candy nor wear costumes to school.

NO ENRICHMENT CLASSES THIS FRIDAY, OCT 31

 

As noted on the enrichment schedule, please be reminded that no After School Enrichment classes will be held this Friday.  Friday classes will resume next Friday, November 7.

SIGN UP FOR PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES

 

Parent-Teacher conferences are now available to be scheduled via Pick-A-Time. All conferences must be scheduled by 4:00 PM Thursday, November 6Babysitting services will be provided by the staff from 8:30am - 3:30pm.

 

Additional babysitting services will be provided from 3:30pm - 8:00pm by our 8th grade students, as a fundraiser for their trip to Israel. For babysitting from 3:30 - 8:00, please sign up ahead of time by emailing Michele Wasserman at mwasserman@grtwacademy.org. Include the name of your child and start and end time needed for babysitting service. The cost is $10 per child, per hour.

DECEMBER LUNCH ORDERS OPEN SATURDAY 8:00PM

 

Due to Shabbat, December lunches will be available to order starting Saturday, November 1 at 8:00 PM, instead of 8:00 AM. Ordering will close at midnight on November 20. As a reminder, please make sure you receive an emailed receipt. If you do not receive a receipt, your order did not go through and it will be cancelled, no exceptions. Please place your order early in case you have any issues.

 

Starting with December lunch orders, banana bread will also be available for purchase at a cost of $10 for two loaves. Bread will be baked fresh at GRTWA and sent home with your child on Thursdays. Click here for more information

BROADWAY SHOW NOVEMBER 18

 

Join GRTWA for a fun evening on Broadway, to see On the Town on Tuesday, November 18 at 7:00pm. Tickets are available for $50 for 5th to 8th graders and chaperones. Transportation is included in the cost; the bus will leave at 3:30pm and return at 11:00pm.

 

Tickets must be purchased by Nov. 3. Please make all checks payable to HAMC. Click here for order form.

8TH GRADE ISRAEL TRIP FUNDRAISERS

  • Babysitting Services available for Parent-Teacher conferences on November 13, from 3:30pm - 8:00pm, at a cost of $10 per child, per hour.   • Chanukah Spree Dec 8th: Please send in new and gently used items for the sale, such as books, jewelry, toys, etc. Collection box is located in the hallway, by the nurse and administrative offices.

  • Personalized Artwork/Keepsake Gifts handmade by your child in time for Chanukah!! Your children have created personal artwork that can be transferred to various mediums just in time for Chanukah. Children were sent home with an order form from Silvergraphics.com.  Please click here for all of the exciting products available to you, your family and friends.   • 10-12 inch Flower Arrangement for $25: Available for Shabbat or Holidays. To order, please contact Regina Shtirmer at (973) 610-8292. 
  • Ariel's After School Cooking Classes for K-8: Support the 8th grade Israel trip and have fun in the kitchen, $30.00 per class or $125 for all 5! Learn to make homemade preserves and muffins, real NY style boiled bagels, latkas and applesauce and more! Click here for details. Class size is limited to 12 students per class. BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

 

Please continue to submit your box tops to the office.  This is a continuous program which helps raise money for the school throughout the year.

WEEK OF HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE

 

The 24th Annual Week of Holocaust Remembrance will be held November 10 - 14 at College of St. Elizabeth. This program is free and open to the public.Commemorating Kristallnacht will be held November 10, 7:30 - 9:15pm. Additional events include Interfaith Dialogue After the Holocaust, and In-Class Faculty Sessions held throughout the week. Click Here for more information. STEP UP FOR ISRAEL ADVOCACY SUMMIT

 

Step Up for Israel Advocacy Summit will be held on Sunday, November 2, 9:00am - 1:00pm at the Alex Aidekman Family Jewish Community Campus, 901 Route 10, Whippany. This is a free event that is open to the public. Event includes viewing of Step Up for Israel movie series and information fair. Click here for more information.

TEEN SUMMER EXPO - JCC METROWEST

COMMUNITY CHALLAH BAKE
