Students go outside every day in all kinds of weather for two recesses, physical education, and class work. They must have clothing and footwear that will allow for active, full participation. This includes:
- Jackets/winter coats to be worn when temperatures are below 40°.
- In addition to a jacket or coat, a hat and mittens or gloves must be worn when temperatures are below freezing.
- Boots or waterproof shoes must be brought to school for rain, snow or slush.
- Snow pants or waterproof pants must be worn for all snow, ice, wet activities.
- BIKE or SKI helmets must be sent in for those who wish to sled, when conditions permit.
Weather Delays/ Cancellations
In the event of weather related delays or cancellations, Hartsbrook will use the AMG alert system to notify parents. We will also post on the website, change the message on the main school phone number and notify TV stations 22 and 3 which run notices on the air and on their websites.

The 2014-2015 Flu Season
|
The flu season has already begun and will peak in January to February. Flu symptoms can include fever, nasal congestion, cough, fatigue, body aches, and sore throat. The flu spreads by respiratory droplets when people with the flu cough, sneeze, or talk.
If your child becomes ill, please keep him/her home from school. The following link to the CDC Flu Guide for Parents can be used as a resource.
During the upcoming flu season, let's keep our students and school community as healthy as we can. Thank you, Laurie Zacek, RN School Nurse

A cellist sees the light between Bach and a hard place when Stephen Katz appears in the world premier performance of ANGELS IN THE ENGINE ROOM. When Katz's concert of Bach Suites and original compositions is commandeered by the force of his inner voices, he is compelled to reveal what's troubling him: how to let the spirit of Bach speak directly through him, and how to explain why his unorthodox physical practice with a juggling ball has made its way into the concert program!
